also, letting everyone know, after much deliberation with the coaching panel of M_M and our new franchise owner, we have decided to offer Dale Thomas the much sought after keeper spot instead of Chris Masten.

There will be a press conference later today, but he is very happy to be doning the light blue with red and yellow vs.

Thanks MM, as previously mentioned I'll allow changes to the keepers up until the day before the draft due to injuries. Everyone has until this Sunday to finalize their keepers, the reason for this is that it gives everyone a week to work on their draft strategy but if anyone changes their keepers then the 'pre-draft rankings' section has to be redone. I don't want anyone to be disadvantaged due to a late injury but I also don't want people to lose all their work unnecessarily.

Enjoy the holiday!

Hi, with regards to MM wanting to change keepers re Mastens for Thomas- I am against the change.

You have made the rules do everyone knew....that being that keepers are locked in unless injury.

I cannot see that Mastens is injured, if he is, then I accept the change, if not your rule applies and it should be disallowed IMO.

The injury change was in regards to Thomas, due to him only playing his first game yesterday and continual speculation about his injury status, it was impossible to lock the keeper without the knowledge. I didn't want to be stuck with a keeper who was on the indefinite injury list the whole season

Edit: it was immediately after the game he played and it is still a week til draft day, having said that if it is an issue with all, am happy to stick with Masten

It's fine.

Jarka has said that people can make changes up until the draft - it is a gratuity that we give ourselves a week to look at the available number of players.

We simply do not need to make this so draconian.

My first reaction is that I won't allow MM's change, and that's purely from the point of view that I was wanting to pick Thomas up quite early myself.... :)

I did make the rule, however this game is meant to be a bit of fun, we're not playing for sheep stations and I don't want to start the season off on a negative note. I put it in place to get everyone organised and to set the keepers, and it achieved it's desired result. MM has been on holiday and probably hasn't been able to commit enough time to setting it up properly, so I'm going to allow it. I apologise to anyone who now has to redo their pre-draft selection list.

I'd like to change my keeps, also, from Beams, Prestia, Kerridge, Crouch to Beams, Prestia, Crouch, Kerridge to reflect the projected rankings.

Seriously JCB, anyone who was going to nominate Masten as a keeper won't be one to worry about this season ;)

JCB, if you want to change them just let me know

Sincere thanks for your kind offer...just wanted to suck someone or some in....Gee I did not think I would ever suck in a Moderator...

I thought about changing montagna for Stanton as I have just been told this week that Montagna cannot play first week due to suspension, whichI honestly did not know due to Cancer treatment in China..

However as I do not to upset a Moderator ,I will belt him in a game...

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
