Melbourne’s poor season is reflected in merchandise orders, coming in at the bottom of the table with just 1.4% of the jumper market.

No one wants to buy our jumpers which is understandable. :(

Hope this picks up with a little bit of success.

Here is the ladder in % of sales:

AFL jumper sales (% up to the end of Q3 2013)

1. Essendon 10.71
2. Hawthorn 10.70
3. West Coast 8.60
4. Carlton 8.09
5. Collingwood 7.62
6. Richmond 7.04
7. Adelaide 6.52
8. Fremantle 6.47
9. Geelong 5.81
10. Sydney 5.43
11. St Kilda 4.75
12. GWS 3.61
13. Port Adelaide 3.51
14. Brisbane 2.89
15. NMFC 2.58
16. Gold Coast 2.27
17. Western Bulldogs 1.99
18. Melbourne 1.40

Whenever I buy merch I get it from the demonshop so the club gets max profit.

My understanding is this is from orders by major retailers, so whatever I buy wouldn't count.

Maybe a similar theme with others?

I can't imagine we're that far below some of the others.

we're just waiting on the new sponsors !!

More GWS jumpers sold than Melbourne (or WB/NM/PA etc)? Really?

My reading on that would be that no one had GWS jumpers - so majority of fans would buy. Novelty factor on top of that.

In a couple of years their numbers may reveal all.

As an aside, I remember hearing a crazy stat about Franklin - something like Hawks jumpers with 23 sell more than any other player number by a street.

Have had a few mates have kids in the past year or so and every now and then keep an eye out for a small guernsey. What I seem to notice is that apart from the AFL stores most sports/department stores tend not to even have any dees gear in stock.

You see hawks and bombers gear everywhere in the shopping centres, but rarely dees. Hard to sell when they're not stocked as much

We should get Coles as a sponsor

The Down and staying Down campaign would be true, no false advertising here.

Our club merchandise (jumpers ) is not sold through major retailers whereas clubs such as Collingwood,Essendon,Hawthorn etc.can be purchased at Target,K-Mart,Big W,Best and Less etc., Melbourne gear can only be had at Rebel and AFL shops.

Did raise this with someone at the club about 2 years ago or thereabouts but was fobbed off with an inconclusive answer but it was acknowledged that the club gear was not being supplied to these chains, would seem that this is still the case.

Never explained why this was happening but would explain the low figures as it is not as easily accessible as many of our competitors.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
