Taylor Adams

One of the big advantages of Adams and 10 for 2 is that it allows GWS to effectively swap two players for one.

They need to start pruning their list back to normal levels, as we've seen with GC17, and still being able to being in top-end talent could play a big part that.

My ideas are just based on history, i'm not sure I can remember anyone putting talks on hold this long and staying, I get that it's a big call for him though, probably his last real contract and he has a right to take his time, and my preference is certainly for him to stay.

Brad Green did. i can't remember which year it was but he was seriously considering a move to Collingwood but signed on for three more years late in trade week.

Did Adem Yze do the same thing when Carlton threw heaps of cash at him?

$400k is about 4% of the cap next year.

So it is becoming less extravagant to pay someone that.

Yes, but with 40 odd players on your list, they average 2.5% of the cap each.

Obviously the players aren't equal, but there's a large difference between 2.5% and 4% for a kid going into his 3rd year.

I'd pay it, but I think the 4% should be put in context.

I believe a deal is being discussed but it involves our 2nd round pick, not pick 2!

I would be amazed if somebody pulled that off, particularly given Richmond's interest.

If Richmond keep Dustin Martin, they have no room for Adams, especially at the money he's being offered elsewhere (like MFC).

Also, it depends what Richmond is offering.

Their 2nd round pick is later than ours, and they may want to keep their 1st round pick.

I would be amazed if somebody pulled that off, particularly given Richmond's interest.

Don't be amazed by anything this time of year! Many unexpected trades will happen. Even some of our players are in for a surprise!

Demoneyes so I can get a feel for how seriously one should deliberate your rumours can you indicate whether this is your wishful thinking, rumours you get trawling other peoples rumours on forums, you have a secondary source relating to the club or a direct source at the club.

Still trying to digest that. May take a zantac!

Its pretty simple really how credible is your info?

The bloke seems full of hot air to me.

Has he been right on anything before? Anyone can throw any sort of info out there at this time of year as long as it sounds even 5% credible.

I think Demoneyes suggested he had a source at Foxsports. Is that correct Demoneyes?

When has it ever been Demonland policy to question sources???

All rumors on here are true aren't they :)

I cannot believe how many regular posters on here are giving this guy air! Thread after thread of half-cocked rumours, not one has come anywhere near to fruition. Wake up!

Afl.com.au say he met with the drug cheats

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-09-25/dons-in-market-for-adams

yet we arent even being mentioned as a chance to land him?

Collingwood and Richmond are more 'important' than us at the minute, therefore they get there air time.

Doesn't mean we aren't chasing him though. I have no doubt we are in for him, but it might take a bit of luck to land him over the other clubs.

Yeah but he's an Eastwood fan. Deserves his 15 minutes. And besides, it is the silly season.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
