Mike Brady to write us a new song

Just what this club needs, more superfluous fluff instead of substance. At least Mitchell will feel as though he has contributed.

Oh and the song is pox.

Really? Hard to believe.

Stars on jumpers, edgy collars, spanking blazers and expensive furniture now folky songs. For gods sake just win a fcuking game of footy it all starts from that.

Could we get any daggier as a club if we tried?

Could we get any daggier as a club if we tried?

What is this "we"? Is this a club sanctioned project?

cough !!!

Oh, the team played fine in the year Thirty-Nine,

We're the Demons that no one can lick, lick, lick

cough

Glad you cleared your throat there B59. I am totally aware of the 2nd verse, however, when the team runs out, or more importantly, after a MFC victory, I don't think I've heard anyone sing the 2nd verse.

I only wish that the AFL would play both verses. Most Dees supporters have never heard the second verse sung and the younger generation can barely remeber the first verse, so rarely is it sung these days!

p.s. I heard Mike's song today and like it [nothing wrong with having two Club songs just in case in a few years we get sick of hearing the same one sung week after week]!

I like the way you think!

I really liked the end bit.

but did you like it?

It wasn't my favourite.

Condescending, pitiful, banal.

Supporters often complain about accepting mediocrity: there you have it in song form.

Its a song by a man named Brady

Who was singing with just three chords on his own

There were lots of words about giving it a go

But no one knew what he'd sung

Till the one day when Mike Brady met a fella

And he knew he wasnt the bloke they called Hunch,
Mitch said he let him air it on the radio,
and thats how we heard him sing sometime about brunch.

A song with punch, thanks a bunch

Thats the way we heard Mike Brady's latest sing stunt !!

I really liked the end bit.

I realy liked the bit just after that !! ^_^

I realy liked the bit just after that !! ^_^

yep. that was nearly as good as the bit before the start - lol

I realy liked the bit just after that !! ^_^

That's what I meant but you were more succinct.

Well I love it, and I want one for Christmas!

What's the reason to do this? Did Neil Mitchell ask him?

Having read the lyrics, i think it should be recited by the other Ron barassi from a band called TISM

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
