Terry Wallace produced edition 1 of his weekly "rolling draft" for 2013 on today's TAC Cup Future Stars:-

1. GWS TOM BOYD (Eastern Ranges)

2. Melbourne JOSH KELLY (Sandringham Dragons)

3. St. Kilda JAMES AISH (South Australia)

4. Brisbane JACK BILLINGS (Oakleigh Chargers)

5. W Bulldogs MATT SCHARENBERG (South Australia)

6. North Melbourne LUKE MCDONALD (Oakleigh Chargers F/S)

7. Gold Coast JONATHON MARSH (Western Australia)

8. Port Adelaide MATT CROUCH (N Ballarat Rebels)

9. Adelaide DARCY GARDINER (Geelong Falcons)

10. West Coast DAYLE GARLETT (Western Australia)

There will be plenty of changes over the next six months before the draft is held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in late November. Of course, the MFC could get a priority pick if Redleg's blueprint works.

Josh Kelly would be a risk. Very skinny but top endurance and silky left foot.

that rings a bell of someone we all use to know... name escapes me..

Does Wallace know something that we don't know about the Priority pick?

Dunstan and Sheed both missing? Goddamn.

Also, I would think the Giants won't take Boyd, unsuited to needs. Aish is #1 OVR it seems, then Sheed/Boyd/Dunstan should be that next bracket. Would think Boyd will go to either the Lions or the Dogs as St Kilda will try to go for mids after drafting Tom Lee last year as a long-term replacement for Riewoldt.

Just watched the tape. Certainly worth a look notwithstanding his size. I wouldn't be disappointed if we picked him up!

I also suspect one of the clubs out West are doing a hush job similar to the Jack Darling and Dean Cox episodes with Blake Acres. By all accounts ahead of Dom Sheeds and Jack Billing but won't play the under 18 champs because of a shoulder. Should be looked at IMO

More than anything I want a bloody star. Is that too much? A bloke who we'll be talking about in 20 years but not in the same manner as I talk about Cale.

I noted today in the AGE the comparison between the recruiting of St Kilda compared to Geelong. Makes interesting reading and proves that Geelong are the masters of identifying talent. St KIlda have retained 5 out of 24 recruits since the 2008 season at a 20% retention rate, on the other hand Geelong is at 80 % and there are mainly in the 20 to 40 draft pick range. It makes a mockery of the value of top 10 picks and some of the heat our recruiters share should be sent to the Saints. Note that over the 4 years (08-11) there were NO trades for recycled players by Geelong. Recommend looking at the table and the names and the time frame in which they develop

I don't believe it was Geelongs drafting skills but more their development of young players (their culture).

No conspiracy here with ACRES did his AC joint in colts game for West Perth, will be right to play with their senior side when championships finish and he wont be hiding it's not in him. No way they will be able to hide this kid under the radar, will go 2nd round IMO

...and if we get a priority pick? do we take Boyd or Dunstan? why are Kelly and Billings so far back?

Wallace is a [censored], as if Dayle Garlett is going to go top 10, not a chance...

Actually, not even a remote chance.

He was the best player in last years draft and didn't get drafted at all.

The chances of him going top ten after all that has gone on - slim to none.

Whoever gets him might get a freak - but the risk is there and sides don't risk first round.

Well, unless they are MFC, they take Lucas Cook or Gysberts instead.

Here's a par on Dominic Sheed who sounds a bit like an Ollie Wines type (I haven't seen him yet so I stand corrected).

AIS-AFL Academy member Dom Sheed followed his best-on-ground effort in round one with another irrepressible performance.

Sheed is strong, hunts the ball, doesn't fumble and has a booming left-foot kick, all ingredients of a top-end draft pick come November.

He picked up a game-high 34 disposals and dominated the stoppages, the WA captain continuing his strong lead-in to next week's division one meeting with the highly-fancied Vic Metro side.

Smith sets gold standard for WA

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
