The club just can't afford to sit on its hands, hoping we'll manage our way through this. If this situation is accepted and allowed to set in, we're gone. You can't imagine any of the power clubs accepting a period like this. They'd be calling for heads and taking action as they simply demand better results.

Have you no idea why it's so very very hard to get a club up to where it needs to be to be playing (regular) finals footy.

A few around here cite Richmond. Here they are, what, 4 or 5 years in under Hardwick, have a fair number of decent draft picks and some good trade-ins, well-managed club, an assistant coach that a few here think would be a great get as head coach, plenty of supporters and presumably the money to do what they need off-field. Will they make finals this year? Maybe. Even next year? Perhaps.

There's a reason every club doesn't win the premiership every year.

And, that's one thing I loved about your namesake, SN.....he made this team bloody tough.

If only our current mob played with the same spirit and toughness that Swooper instilled. He didn't crap on about elite mindsets or attempted tackles. And he certainly didn't give us the line 'it is what it is' if we were demolished. His greatest trait was simple but very important - his players played for him. That doesn't appear to be the case with MN.

Yes, and you'd recall that we were ahead of Richmond in terms of development two years ago. We've hit reverse at a million miles an hour. I don't know about you, but given we've been rebuilding since 2007 and seemingly getting worse, I'd have thought the club needs to take a good look at itself and do something!

They were great memories DN9, because we played with spirit. We were tough and didn't take the soft option. They were teams that did the jumper proud. Other teams feared us.

We sure did swoop. I worked as a property steward at the club through Northeys run as coach. Some of his half time speeches were amazing. A very passionate man who demanded the players give 100% in every aspect of the game.

Why does the present coach NEED to see the year out.

Results are what he needs, we have just finished our soft start with a 55% & one win.

A new coach wont be able to do anything more with our current list. All it will do will hurt us financially, negatively contribute to culture (high turnover), go through another rebuilding process to suit the new coach, and teach the players that its alright to be lazy, its alright to provide no effort when your club needs you to put it in the most because hey, its the coach's fault and we will just get you a new one and keep paying you for sub par performances.

What you say has merit. I just don't think Neeld is the one to do it.

Hinkley may not win another game this year, but he did get his crap list to win 5 in a row.

Neeld has got nowhere near that in 20 months.
