Agree Deeko, makes no sense to me. Yes the kid was keen to come to the Dees, but I think our rock stocks are quite strong. With Gawn, Spencer and Fitzy, we have 3 young quality prospects who are all too good for the VFL but unproven at AFL level, pretty sure Hannath would be in a similar boat. Jamar despite struggling would still get a game at most clubs so that's 4 serviceable ruckman on our list. Not too mention Clark and Dawes who can both play there if neccessary.

I'm no big Pedo fan, but you'd think Hannath was Dean Cox the way some here are carrying on!

What's with all the love for Hannath?

I think Pedo has shown as much as Jack has in there couple games which isn't a great deal.

Not at all Hannath may be just a player but from what I've seen so far and from his record at North, Pederson's not.

Speaking of love for, Fittzy has shown nothing in his time at the club and in the only game I've seen him play in the ones he was dreadful, the fact he hasn't got a call up more often is an indication of where he's at.

When I first saw Pedo I was disappointed in his height figuring he isn't big enough to ruck, barely key forward. Not sure what the stats say but he looks shorter than Dunn. He does have a decent leap but and one game (prob GWS so not sure if it counts) he showed he has ok hands to clunk a mark. I still think it's hard to judge a forward playing for us at the moment with:

a) The complete lack of supply &

B) The low level of that supply

I would like to see how he would go playing back assisting Frawley as Tommy Mc is useless defending bigger bodies when the ball is in the air. Maybe Pedo could take the job as the gorilla minder.

Hannath had I think one mark against the Tiges and not many more against GC. I think we can let that one slide and not worry too much.

Apart from looking like a giant pray mantis, I'm not sure what Fitzy would offer to the seniors. Maybe he just needs to clunk a couple to get his confidence up and who knows. I suppose the issue is that without Jamar, Spencer must play. Then Gawn gives the chop out for the 25% that Spence rests. Dawes remains deep/CHF at all times and doesn't ruck. The whole rucking issues nearly ruined him at Collingwood and I imagine they won't want the issue to happen here.

Fitzy can only play that chop out role that Maxy is playing now as from what we have seen he isn't a first ruckman and he isn't good enough to get a game as a key forward solely. The only spot he can play is the one Maxy is in at the moment and so far, big Maxy on the park is one of our few shining lights for the year.

Yes we did, and we picked Gysberts with pick #11 which we got from Carlton for Brock, which means we swapped Brock for Pedo.

No, we (effectively) swapped Brock for Gysberts, that's where it all went haywire.

Gysberts is currently running round in the VFL for North, the Pedersen/Gysberts trade is about right ... though time will tell.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
