Dean Kent has been named the sub for the Dees.

Jaryd Cachia is Carltons sub.

You've got to be kidding, watching his debut would have made a visit to the 'G' worthwhile. Well let's hope we can put in a fair effort and Howe takes mark of the year.

Another stupid decision.

If he's ready to play, great, let him play. If he isn't, keep him at Casey where he can play a full game and develop.

Imagine having to spend 3/4 of your first match on the bench. What poo!

Congrats to Kent on his first game, much deserved promotion, shame he is only the sub, as much as you hate injuries hopefully there is a minor injury or something so he gets abit more game time :)

Agreed, surely Tapscott or Bail would be a better choice. Kent is ready to play, why not let him?

.....

Dumb. Stupid. Might as well have left Davey in the team. Casey might have won as well.

Common sense out the door. They are losing me................dumb, just dumb.

ED.: MFC has flown his family over from Perth. WTF for....30minutes of footy? Stupid. This the sort of [censored] that loses me.

Wow it's amazing how people can take a seemingly immaterial decision and turn it into a complete negative.

Kent might come on and kick 3 in the last quarter, which would build his confidence immensely. Take a breather people!

What a lot of crap.........This is a perfect way to bring him in and get a taste of AFL footy......There is no pressure on him now.....It is not a stupid decision only for DL's ......It's called development........Which all have been bleating about....

Everyone has been saying the biggest knock on him was his defensive work? i suppose now he can come in and play to his strength, hopefully the game is still winnable when this happens.

First gamer comes on when everyone else is tired and is eased into the intensity of AFL. How is this bad?

its a joke that his family have come over and hes named as sub

Neeld at his finest

in defense of neeld Carlton have done the same thing but their guy is local.

That said I agree. First gamers have a habit of inspiring and playing well. Hence the first kick goal club. But knowing us kent is likely to get on early enough and can hopefully make an impact.

whinge

Maybe, but the guy is good enough to play but not good enough to be in front of one of the 'stars' from last week? Reduces goal kicking options by one and also what's the point of flying his family over from WA to see him play the last quarter of what in all likelihood will be a quarter of going through the motions?

Nicholson on the field? FMD.

Nicholson on the field? FMD.

His only strength is his endurance, so why not take advantage of it?

Why did you have to go and say something like that......

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
