GAMEDAY - ROUND 5

Featured Replies

No Grimes, sitting 20 metres off your man is NOT considered defending.

Sad ending. Does go to show how much we have to do to catch up.

Was going well until moved into defence.

Why was that again?

Watts up forward? LOL - When will we learn

We just fold like a bloody wet piece of toilet paper.... FFS

Neeld got Dawes to the club, chance Dawes will not play a game with him as coach.......

Hi Jack Watts - just saw you come into view - nice jogging action

Watts - finished for me... I know he might be better developed somewhere else - I know big guys take longer - I know he has great skills.

But he's a big girls blouse - and we just can't keep carrying him in a game where we need to tighten up.

Watts just gave up on the chase out of our forward line - pathetic and gone. Probably a nice bloke - never want to see him again...

Mate - it's easy to run around - it's hard to play footy - mate.

Stuie - you're just wrong. It will be hard for you accept that - but it's a fact. You've got rose coloured glasses that are restricting your vision - all the people without those glasses are the one's watching the game "properly".

If he's injured, that might be why he's NOT chasing HARD

We might get up and win this - but the pressure on Neeld won't be released.

Watts - sigh.

No - you're wrong again and on both counts -

1. I don't hate Watts, he's just not a very good footballer

2. No he's not - watch Terlich

(oh, and 3: "your")

Wrong again Stuie - you're struggling here, aren't you - lots of posts praising him

"And watts is a beautiful kick - and must play forward"

"Good mark, Watts... so he has to stay up forward"

thought I'd save you the trouble, Stuie - this is obviously a bit beyond you.

You fool. got and look at the post numbers.

off to the ignore list for you, Stuie...

Sorry Frankie, what were you saying about your opinion of Watts....?

I can't understand the difference between 2012 and 2013. We are no better 12 months on. It's a mirror image.

Yet somehow we'll be fed lines about the age of the list and redevelopment. I'd like to know based on what we've seen would inspire anyone to believe that 12 months from now would be better?

It's so depressing to watch.

Is that the second time bail blazed away for a behind when a team mate was open in a better position?

He does it every single game. That's the type of thing that he should be dragged for.

Seriously. We are just woeful. Absolutely woeful.

It's embarrassing. Whoever organized our midfield should be shot. Seriously it's not even VFL standard. Forget being poor, we are always on the wrong side.

Mark Neeld has to be accountable for bringing in absolute spuds like Pederson and Rodan and getting rid of players like Moloney without replacing their role in the team. It's irresponsible.

Every week we lose the uncontested possessions by miles yet we still dont man up! We play wide and as soon as the opposistion get the ball they go up the middle and we do nothing to stop it. Im all for giving the coach a chance but come on. 5 rounds in now and this happens every game! Neeld the gameplan is not working mate, either we dont have the fitness or skill or discipline or whatever it is we dont have it. Time to hit the reset button because we cant get any worse. Surely....

Amazing how Brisbane don't have to handpass to dispose of the ball. You can just tip it out to a teammate and away you go.

Neeld can [censored] off and take his zone, boundary line, and reject players with him.

Just heard Tim Watson say Melbourne are not putting in 100 % and thats exactly how it looks they look defeated before they start

Grimes attempted tackle was pathetic

again because of watts poor efforts early in the game in defence,,,, has stolen the players excitement & energy from last week.

they're deflated because we can't be continually chasing tail.

the backline looks better with watts not there,, & he won't compete well enough as a medium tall, won't lead or run when he actually has the ball. he has only the wing left or out! I think out!

I wanted Nicho in for Zorko,,, & Strauss in for a HB flank role. McKenzie in to go to Rockliff...

Next week we need Strauss in & watts out.

Strauss Dunn & Nicho in next week.

Work rate just doesn't exist and hasn't for years my call is get rid of the blokes that don't want it bad enough and never ever play then again. It should be a prevlidge and an honor to get an opportunity to play afl not many of these guys look as if they give a [censored]

you're kidding yourself, the bloke has been brilliant all day, has ran and ran and ran!, he is the one bloke you should not be having a crack at mate!!!

Unfortunately Grime has run and run and run... and then consistently missed targets by hand and by foot.

If Trengove wasn't pick two he would be delisted at the end of the season. Clearly he has shown nothing in four years that shows he is better than a good VFL player. Making him captain as a marketing ploy must be the worst decision in the 150 history of the club.

what a lost opportunity

Free to air main game and we blew the opportunity to move forward

Absolutly no leadership hard not to question the players desire and their passion

down hill from here im afraid

SO HARD TO WATCH

There's a guy playing for Brisbane who's had 34 touches and 10 clearances, apparently he was a free agent last year... Wonder why we didn't go after him?

Then get off the forum if you are sick of opinions. Isnt a hard solution for most people. Seems difficult for yourself though unsurprisingly.

You need to give it a rest Tiger and think about the lives of the young men you so flippantly punish with your ego.

See you in a month, I'll make sure of it tough guy!

They just open us up so easily through the middle. Why are we so unaccountable? How do four Brisbane players get clear in the centre of the ground with not a Melbourne player within 50ft of any of them?

If Trengove wasn't pick two he would be delisted at the end of the season. Clearly he has shown nothing in four years that shows he is better than a good VFL player. Making him captain as a marketing ploy must be the worst decision in the 150 history of the club.

There's about 150 worst decisions to choose from unfortunately.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
