Only by switching over to telstra I believe, dc... I'm very happy with IInet. & I do not want to go to telstra on principle... telstra charges me $30.00 per month, before I even get started, just for line rental, for copper lines!

telstra has the monopoly on the exchanges in regional Australia, & they won't let Optusnet in, apparently. many smaller suppliers use the optusnet partnership.

I noticed the line slows a bit in peak times & when its wet.

what's your postcode and or exchange and I'll look it up for you

For anyone not a fan of the ridiculous AFL site. Clip's at 5:50.

thanks Yossarian, thankyou thankyou.

I've just spent over an hour analysing that quarter... fantastic, & Sylvia & Jones were brilliant in the stoppages. led us from the getgo.

the whole team responded & the run was great.

Sylvia, Jones, Evans, Byrnes, Bail, Howe, Grimes, Garland, Jetta, Gawn, Tappy

Great work on the video. Also just one point .. this is why people do not rate Jack Watts. Watch the video just after the byrnes calamity (about 1:55) and watch Watts attempt to spoil in the pack. You see defenders like Ben Reid and others get up and absolutely smash the ball out of play but Watts still looks half hearted. For one I am a Jack Watts fan and believe he can become a star however with efforts like that it is a long way off.

Nupp.

Just watched it, shivers down my spine..

Honestly that was Gary Ablett like..

Yeah it was great but not as great as how i saw it on the day. Maybe i should take my bonoculars to the match next time. Good to see though and hopefully we see this sort of attack and committment from the whole team from here on.

DT, you're preaching to the choir. We all know JW is soft. If he can't change his ways he's gorn. If he hasn't got one already, he needs a personal mentor who can get into his head.

he's been chatting to Mick Malthouse for some time, over a year.... they need key blue talls.

JW looks lacklustre & disinterested this season? his attitude looks to have gorn northward.

drop him & make him ship up, Or tell him >>>>> GTFooH.

Was a jaw dropping moment for me.

Can't recall the last time i saw a player at the MFC do something like that. Maybe Jakovich in full flight, but even then it would only be 2 players max. I think Col brushed off 3 in that run or was i seeing things?

Moloney would be the most recent I can remember... but never did it with such finesse

He looks lost, & over conservative in his approach & attack at the contest. He looks like he's trying to think his way through every aspect in live time instead of trusting footy instinct.

This is probably his issue, he has a conservative basketball instinct where there are less players coming for you, & so easier to intellectually cover off the tangents.

In AFL there are more players at the ready to come & attack you, so he should just forget trying to intellectualise, & just learn to react, move aggressively, & spontaneously choose in the moment, subconsciously.

IMO he is trying to be too conscious in his planning. do your planning when the play has stopped.

Be instinctive JW.

The most annoying thing with JW is he is without doubt our best kick of the football. Consistently hits targets ... I just cannot understand why he is so soft. Hes not a small player he just needs that aggression .. I say stick him with Mitch Clark and Chris Dawes for three weeks and make him follow them in the weights room , on the track and even get Clark to rag doll him at training to show him what is required, Maybe that might work I don't know but it's better than nothing.

How about a boxing trainer?

watts will be good once he gets abit of confidence..

Neeeds abit of time, whereas Sylvia just needs to be in the middle

Playing devil's advocate: he yanked the kick.

Not really. it was to a contest

He's an absolute gem.

Col has had a good past year and is looking to hit a new level in my opinion, which he has promised for so long

Lets hope so

He has had 4+ years - how much does he need???? Shows very little interest in the game at the moment

OK, you make a fair point. But with the step up of Trengove, Grimes and Jones it would be more likely of him stepping up.

The play that the OP is talking about is deadset the most exciting thing I've seen a Melbourne player do for the best part of a year. He arrogantly dismissed his opponents.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
