Totally agree with this view of that particular contest. He attacked the ball and knew it was going to be a big hit. He was sore but got up and continued with the play. In a few more weeks he'll be holding the mark as well. Needs to work on forearm vice like grip of someone like Cloke.
In: Sylvia, Blease, Magner
Out: Bail, Evans, Kent
We must bring in Blease and leave him for the remainder of the year. Give a solid chance to perform and keep improving. We have too many players that can't kick and Bail is at the top of the list. Evans & Kent would be still, but Sylvia and Magner will both get more than 15 possessions.
Absolutely agree with a couple of comments above - Sylvia must be played in the middle. He plays his best footy there. Attacks, get inside 50s and kicks goals. Neeld clearly played him forward as we had zero options and Howe couldn't get near it.
Midfield should be N Jones, Sylvia, Dunn (on best opposition).
Hopefully we play Strauss next week. We have no one (Watts aside) that can kick the football out of the backline. Need to give he and Blease 5-6 matches in a row.
The logo is great. Directly links to our history and is engaging to look at. Best logo in the AFL.
However, winning games of football is what really counts when it comes to a club's brand. The quicker we can show some fight the better.
Rapt that Nev has been able to play a few games. He has had a tough run with injury. His tackling and in and under work is quite good. Great effort going back with the flight of the ball. Definitely worth persisting with.
Some people clearly have not been watching the past 4-6 weeks. Col has been one of our better players. Ive put it down to one simple reason. He plays well when put in the middle of the ground. I was so frustrated when Neeld kept playing half forward at the start of the year. Once he was 'in the guts' he has played some very good football. Yesterday, back to half forward and an average game. He is possibly one of the las players i would want to see traded.
Tommy will be a great player. You must remember that he had played one game before this year! His consistency has been excellent. Yes, his kicking and decision making must improve, but it should with good coaching. Four years ago we would have said Chip was our worst kick. Now he is a solid kick and even kicks out at times. Tommy reminds me of Chip - excellent defensive skills, good evasion and a willingness to take on their opponents.
Sammy has really increased his value over the past two months. He has kicked at least one goal in all bar three of his games - a great sign. Other will be keen so we'll have to pay him 'overs' but hopefully we can sign him for three years. If so it should be well worth it. His pace is extreme and he baks himself which i really love. Not playing on this week shows he is learning. He was clearly hampered by a leg injury/knock which demonstrates a good mental toughness as he played a great four quarter game. Hopefully positive news of a signing soon.
