Frawley and Sylvia in unconfirmed nightclub dust up

Featured Replies

Both players should be dropped for at least the next match.

being dropped from this rabble for a week would be a reward.

Based on what, a rumour on a couple of forums (which probably emanated from the same single source - some one has even extrapolated two reports to mean "multiple people reporting it")?

A team that has managed to find positives in a 94 point loss because there is nothing else positive does not need two of it's leaders out drinking so obviously, if it's true they need to be hit hard for it.

Yes IF it's true... many in this thread are making statements about what action must be taken as if it was a known fact that it had happened (including yourself until your response)... let's wait and see before we start hangin' them high.

If proven - would I be correct in saying there hasn't been a season where Colin hasn't had some alcohol related incident. Atleast Richmond had the balls to deal woth Connor.

Well, in my lifetime, there has hardly been a year go by where I haven't had at least one or more alchohol related incidents take place (since my 18th of course... cough), so I think I should accept that these guys are occasionally go off the rails. However, the fact that it has had no further reporting other than on here and on Big Footy (and as I said before, I would think they are probably from the same source directly or indirectly), would seem to indicate that it either: a. may not have occurred, or b. if it did occur, would appear to be the old storm in a teacup.

As I said, let's just wait until we see what really happened, if anything.

yep, thats positive, and our prez should be the only person talking to the press.

sick of everybody chipping in for crap press conferences. we need strenght and unity, so lets not divide over such a petty non proven RUMOUR

I don't care if they get drunk as long as they play hard on the field. The reason we didn't pursue jack darling was that he got drunk once or twice. Who cares? You should read the biography of norm smith.

Guys all the off field distractions havent stopped collingwood from being a super team on field.. just saying

Yeah and when Swan was out on the [censored] they suspended him.

The hate for Sylvia and love for Neeld pretty much sums up MFC supporter base . Foolish. Irony is he saved Neeld a 186 point thumping and Neeld will have his day v GWS.

As for the topic. Don't believe all you hear. Perhaps Spud is jealous.

Both will be at Melbourne next year. Both required.

Melbourne's best 6

Jones

Sylvia

Clark

Grimes

Frawley

Howe

Footnote for all yu Sylvia doubters.

He broke his back pre season last year and came back to be in Melbourne's best in lat 8 games.

So has anyone actually confirmed that this so-called incident even happened?

Would have been on the news by now if there was any truth to it.

Does that matter? Rumour is good enough.

Unconfirmed rumours. I'm surprised Chip got into Riva impersonating Ned Kelly.

I will not comment on the veracity of the claim - so I will not crucify any player based on rumour and "in your endo".

As a general response to anyone defending any of our players getting on the turps ? These guys are paid great wads of money to be professional athletes - if you want go out and get shitfaced or eat pizza's morning noon and night or party hard 24/7 then alls good but pick a different profession - its not that hard. As a professional footballer you are paid to turn out in the best possible shape and getting hammered is both disrepectful to the club and supporters who have an expectation of professional athletes being professional but also disrespectful to teammates who do the right thing.

To repeat - this is a general comment aimed at all footballers from all clubs and not in response to unproven claims on Big Footy.

The boys have only certain times during the season that they can have a drink. It is when they have a break greater than 7 days. That was last sat as they don't play now until Sunday. I understand the preference for them not to go over board but they are young men and considering the pressure it's not surprising. Based on the fixture they might have a drink less than once a month if that.

If I had a dollar for every time I've been drunk in St Kilda at 2 in the morning I could go and pay my bar tabs.

luckily my job isn't as important as theirs.

Everyone gets out of the way of a school bus when it swerves around the roads.

Nothing wrong with breaking out with 8 days between games. Let em go for it.

God people here are so precious "as a paid up member..." you have a right to go to the games. You don't get to dictate behaviour

What a bunch of sooks you all sound like.

Baby%20cry.gifThat's what's wrong with our club...... No discipline and players and Members who do not give a Shite ....!!!! You should have a more concerned attitude twards such immature players that still get [censored] after a game and then try and convince everyone they are fit and interested ... They are Neither !!

That's why we are soooooo far off the pace !!! No bloody discipline and Members with "soft" Approach attitudes.... We are not trying to dictate behaviour ?? We are trying to get this club back on the rails and trying to instill some form of discpline into the Playing group...We need to change this weak soft culture... !!! Try and get away with this sort of behaviour with some of the Really successful clubs and see how far it takes you... ?????

longer serving Members... When the rot sets in it seems the old parts of the furniture

It seems the same old names "go overboard" BECAUSE the same old names couldn't give a Shyte about this Club and so it seems with SOME of our older and "part of the furniture" Members... When the rot sets in so it seems, to have affected them...Let's get this "acceptance" of failure Culture out of this club. It seems right now it has been there far too long. We are sinking..... Fast !!

What Bloody pressure ????? These players do not seem to know how to handle any kind of pressure ... The WEAK way out is to handle it with alcohol ... Is that the culture we want... ???

Taken from BF;

One was definately Sylvia and the other frawley. I think frawley was trying to tell Sylvia he's had enough as Sylvia was very drunk. Sylvia didn't like what he heard and a push and shove happened. Probably not a huge story although does show the different characters of the 2.

Had Frawley had enough of Sylvia's drunken attitude or enough of the club?

It's the type of boozy culture we know and love .

Sure beats a non-consensual gang-bang .

or a night in the Bandidos Club House on the meth .

forget this thread, such a waste of time

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
