OUR CLUB NEEDS UNITY - Support the club - Rally at our open training session - Friday 12th April - 9:45am - Gosch's Paddock

If this happened, I'd like everyone to act like those idiots hanging over the players' race, but direct it towards any on-looking media that may be there.

Sure, it'll look ugly on tv. But it's time to get ugly and stand up for the club, rather than tear it down.

Got a message back from the football club's facebook page, it was fairly straight forward, but im glad they're at least taking notice:

"Hi Jeremy, we're pleased to hear so many suuporters coming to training tomorrow. No doubt the players will appreciate the support."

Yeah, I'll be there. Go Dees!

Go bananas!

That's the plan! ;-)

Deestroy All, understand your sentiment but only positive energy welcome tomorrow.

*puts down the molotov*

Just spent my lunch time here on the Gold Coast, reading through the 10 pages of this thread. Well done all, especially WW and Wizza. This is the spirit that will help encourage our boys to get up and show the footy world the great MFC aint dead just yet!

I'll be with you all at training tomorrow in spirit.

Go Dees!

Gents, the Club are trying to help with the push to advertise, but you have to remember they have a constraint, if they go overboard, some sectors of our supporters, the media etc will say they are hiding their heads in the sand about issues.........just show up,

Last time I was at training was the Thursday night before the Grand Final in 1964 - my father was working with the Club. In the rooms after training, some bloke hoists an 8 year old me up on Ronald Dale's shoulders and gives me a footy to hold above my head.

Next day, back page of the Herald (the evening paper) is a pic of me on RDB's shoulders with the headline "Youngster takes a screamer over Barassi"!!

Then we go and win the GF!!!

Not sure tomorrow can top that, but it's much more important - see you there and congrats, waynewussel, for providing the inspiration for so many of us to do the bloody obvious - SUPPORT THE BOYS WHO PULL ON THE RED AND BLUE!

thanks again frankie_d for that personal highlight... Inspirational!

you've taken over as the Rev for optamism from Crawf!

Hope you get a good turn out guys

Feeling the passion all the way up in the Kimberley region guys.

Wish I could make it over.

Proud to be a supporter amongst you lot. Give the lads all the support you can.

Go Dee's!!

I may well have a patient-lite morning. If the books stay clear, I'll be there.

After the shambles that was round 1 we sent out a search party for you too!

I'm sure Craf is out there, probably out there somewhere preaching the good word to the unconverted

Flying to Dubai at 6am tomorrow morning and looking forward to reading how it all went when I get there. I'll wear my MFC top for the trip so as to align with you guys and gals and make this international.

I was in deep depression DemonWA

It took 24 hours of love by me nearest and Dearest to get me out of the foetal position.

Only joking When I suffer like the last two weeks I stay away till I calm down.

My farther told me a long time ago to never act in anger.

I'll be there - but have a conference call 9.30 to 10.30 so I will be the one looking as if I am interested in what is going on on the phone!

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
