The last thing this club can afford is another interim coach to take over while we look for another. The one concern that I have is that the problems that the club has goes back per Neeld and most of the current FD. For this reason, the review that Jackson will undertake is critical. A fresh look at things may uncover deeper problems.

I have never seen a more soulless and spiritless group of footballers.

There is no doubt that the players don't play for the coach and few players have improved under Neeld. Many have gone backwards. A number of required players have been dispatched poorly from the Club.

Neeld needs to be cut immediately. And the process to move forward with a competent experienced coach recruited through a disciplined and sensible recruitment plan enacted likewise. And no Garry Lyon involved thanks.

I was all for giving Neeld a fair run at it however the game against the lions highlights some more massive flaws in our coaching department.

1. We let Beamer go a genuine hard nut mid, wins contested ball and clearances and he rips us a new one at the weekend. We have a similar player on our Rookie list who is ripping up the VFL at the moment. WTF?

2. At the Press conference after the game he suggested that to loss under 5 goals on the road was a postive? WTF If BL had of kicked straight it would have been a 10 goal loss! 37 scoring shots to 24 is a flogging! Crap like this is not exactly inspiring people to by membership.

That to go along with other gems like "I want us to be the hardest team to play against" We are the easiest team to score against!

Why hasn't anyone asked Garry Lyon and the MFC about the day that they interviewed Neeld for the job, and to see if the presentation he put forward to them to get the coaching job is the same as what is being seen now?

Massive shake up of the football department is needed, Mahoney, Craig, Royal and Rawlings have to go also!

Firstly, surely Neeld would know the midfield is where it all happens. Then he brings in Gillies, Byrnes, Rodan, Pederson.

Secondly, we are WORSE than last year. Surely after 19 months in charge we should be getting better NOT worse under Neeld if he's any good?

Thirdly, don't be facetious about losing the players, you know what it means, and to joke it off shows you have no answer for it. What did The Ox say about his impression? Think he might know a bit about playing groups and relationships with coaches?

I'm a know non-fan of Neeld, but even I say he should stay til CLOSE to the end of the season.

Caretakers are a waste of time, but if we can ditch Neeld a few weeks before the end of the season then we get a head start on recruiting the new guy for next year.

That is of course if having him doesn't effect re-signing some of our important players.

This is all very rational .

The problem is that it looks more like a bunch of blokes trying to bury the coach.

Either that or they are trying to work for a coach who has NFI and the entire club is (edit: "going") backwards as a result.

It's a horrible mess and something has to give.

Well not all of us are going off. Some of us are unsure where to step.

That's a big 'if' and I am not saying that we keep him till October.

If in August we are certain of his fate then we can do it then and reconcile it with any players that were disillusioned.

I just don't think it is as simple as 'the players hate the coach' - some will fight for him and will think we are a rabble for firing him before he even makes it to the half way mark of his contract.

1 month of a caretaker is fine, 2 months if you are sure the decision is made.

But 3 or 4 months of jogging on the spot doesn't help us retain those oh-so-disillusioned players.

How many years in a row is it now that we are looking at draft picks after the first game of the season?

Between the years 2006 to now we have not improved one bit, in fact we've got progressively worse. I thought that Neeld and the expanded FD would bring a new standard to the club and they have but it's a new low not high. I don't want to argue about Bailey, he's gone and its pointless getting tied up with comparisons, we are in the [censored] at the moment we need to talk about the future and where we are headed.

I personally think we have to move on from Neeld and if that means Craig or Viney then it should be done. We then need a coach that commands respect, someone like Matthews or Roos, I'd say if we convinced one of those it would give the club some much needed credibility. If we look at replacing Neeld with another untried coach, that's if we replace him, it will be the death of the club.

We need someone at the top who knows how to coach.

If Neeld leaves he'll spend the next 2 - 3 years at whatever new club he goes to trying to poach our players and administration staff. Like he has with Collingwood. (Dawes, Wellingham, Taylor, Leigh Brown, probably Daisy ect)

Neeld had everything going for him when he arrived at this club. He got what he demanded with the football department and then he had to deal with some very sad news with Jimmy passing.

Here is my rub regarding Neeld and the current administration.

At the start of 2013 Neeld had near a full fit list who apparently trained the house down over summer.

This list under Neeld had 12 months grace after Jimmys passing to get itself in shape.

Neeld stated that the tanking dramas had little effect on his summer program.

IMO if Neeld the so-called teacher could not harness this group after the passing of one of the club greats, Then [censored] me!

Instead, the players are performing worse than 2012 and the football department is a total shambles.

This list is weak in mind and ability to perform on the big stage. Neeld is showing no ability on match day to improve performance and supporters are on the brink of giving up. It's serious stuff, it's urgent stuff.
