Kent Cleared

Is he just about a certain starter? I must admit I don't know enough about some of the new boys.

awesome news. Would be good to see him in rnd 1 given his performances in the nab cup, but i wouldn't be surprised if he isn't. i do think he'll turn out to be a steal in the long run though given where we got him in the draft.

Dean Kent has been cleared by the VFL tribunal after being reported at Casey on the weekend.

Excellent, I had him picked in my team, which I can't find anywhere?

I must have turned the computer off before posting it. hah.

Expect the same impact as like Lachie Neale from freo.

Apart from being reported, how did he actually play on the weekend?

Just ok I think dee zee according to reports but they also indicated the afl listers weren't going full chat. I thought he was a great chance to get a game WJ. You don't think so?

Very much doubt it for round 1 but he will get games in 2013.

I think he might have been on track after the intra club and first couple of NAB games but picked up a minor injury a few weeks back that has probably cost him. I also think the FD don't want to take to many debs into the same game.

He's not far off though and I'm sure his name would have been up for selection.

That just about sums it up.

It's the opening game of the year and we'll be going into it with plenty of new faces anyway. Of the young recruits, Toumpas and Viney are a fair way ahead of Kent.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
