Injury List - Round 1

Rohan Bail (concussion) 1 week

Max Gawn (hamstring) test

Chris Dawes (hamstring) test

Tom McDonald (ankle) test

Nathan Stark (knee) 3 weeks

Jack Fitzpatrick (concussion) test

In addition, Dean Kent fronts the VFL Tribunal tomorrow night on a striking charge from the Casey Scorpions game on Saturday.

I don't think Trengove and Blease are right either but would prefer to be wrong

Is it true Kent twotted the bloke right in front of the umpire?

Port supporter said he saw it and there was nothing in it. Hope they have video if that is the case or he is gone.

Don't forget they've still got 6 days to get right....

To get 4-6+ weeks of match fitness back!?

This list that was published by the little paper this afternoon paints a far rosier picture, only two players listed (and both at 1 or 2 weeks)

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/supercoach-news/the-barometer-find-out-which-of-your-clubs-stars-are-on-track-to-play-in-round-1/story-fncufbo5-1226605499510

but obviously I'd take the clubs one a bit more accurately. When in previous years have we had (lack of match fitness notwithstanding) such a short

list at this time of the year?

Also worth noting is the Eagles list, we play them in 2 weeks time, and none of those main players are due back in this timeframe...

I think you are forgetting a vital element DD

The second language of the AFL is lying.

The only think I believe on injury lists is that players mentioned are part that team.

beyond that it is anyone's guess

I believe everything I read in the Herald Sun!

And the third language of the AFL is media incompetence which makes that guesswork even more hazardous.

I'm sure all Melbourne-based Demonlanders know you mean the Herald Sun, but now that The Age has gone tabloid (sorry, "compact" as Fairfax prefers to call it) how long til the expression "the little paper" loses its undeniable meaning?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
