NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE

Featured Replies

Except for our two best backs, two best forwards and then add Blease, Viney and Trengove for good measure.

Still doesnt make up for lack of heart.

Pre season favouritism for the wooden spoon does not seem unrealistic. Good news is that we hot for the No 1 draft pick again.

Do we warrant a priority pick from the AFL yet?

I can not see why the MFC was not given any Friday night games!

Connolly's humour has put us out of contention for one anytime soon...

would love to see a win but if we keep our normal record of never beating GC in the preseason but never loosing to them in the real season ill be happy

We'll will be a seriously improved team when we limit discussion to who is actually on the paddock. The power teams don't worry about who is not playing they expect the team out there to do the job.

Sounds like some posters here need a cold shower! Loving the opinions formed from twitter updates...

Keep the end of the world comments coming though - do enjoy a chuckle

@melbournefc: Suns score a goal. Suns 68 v 41. We're half way through the final quarter.

Avaliable or unavaliable doesn't mean much. We don't win no matter who plays.

The AFL better give us the priority pick now so we are not tempted to tank again.

picked up intensity in 3rd although scoreboard not showing, seemed to have more inside 50s but failed to convert, GC got lucky everytime...

wouldn't read into it too much..

Yeah, emotion reigns supreme here at Demonland.. (usually unnecessary)

Youll get used to it.. or not!

Cheers for the updates..

we cant even beat a side that was formed 3yrs ago, go chuckle on that, Power will pump us in Round 1, absolutely putrid pre season form once again, Neeld will be gone by the end of the season, hes just another coach who could sell ice to the eskimos.

Still doesnt make up for lack of heart.

So.. You are there right now, watching the match?

Tell us more.

I want John Northey back.

Does not matter what Neeld can sell and to whom if the players are not buying in!

he has nothing to do with this game

@melbournefc: A goal to the Suns then a point to us. Suns 12.7.79 v Dees 7.6.48.

I note that a goal has taken them from 74 to 79. Interesting scoring up their in the north.

Think that joke went over your heard Mark...

the same people make the same excuses over the last 5 pre seasons yet we end up rubbish in the real season, so how about some accountability. Pre season form does seem mean something to us. Get it. The trends and stats are there now.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
