  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Will Neale Daniher ever coach again?

And we've been so much better since???????

better?

when the place is full of Rot, soft culture & no workethic, you have to surgically remove the worst of it, only allowing those bits you cannot live without.

We've had to do surgery in an ongoing manner over a couple of years, & to me, it looks like we are on a healthy trajectory towards hard won contested footy.

That means we are learning to control the supply of ball. To start with.

We have it seems, recruited well over the last 2 years.

To me it looks, so far so good.

The key for all of us I think, is to not take the heat off our club.

We have to keep demanding results.

Melbourne has it seems, a propensity to become content at the change of winds.

We've been down this road so many times, it time for the supporters to become relentless ourselves.

We have to be the watchdogs to maintain our club stays ontrack.

That means fairly supporting the club, not whingeing about things in the past and constantly complaining to all and sundry about what you think is wrong.

Don't forget to give while you're doing all this "demanding".

It's very tough marking to give Daniher none of the credit for the highs and all of the blame for the lows.

Exactly! why do some people conveniently forget what he achieved in 98 . they are happy to accuse him of leaving the list in a state but how was the list when he took over at the end of 97. Selective memory seems to be a common syndrome on this site. I havent read once where anyone has tried to say he was an all time great, but he did bring some siccess throughout his tenure.

answer the question Stuie.

Were you there?

I was there WYL. That was a bloody good side that 2000 bombers team. The moment i saw nicholson jog over to man up on hird i knew we were F&^%ed. Still , why ignore the achievement of getting to the granny. It was a very finals series for the Dees. Just came up against the giant of the comp that last Saturday

No, it doesn't.

It means keeping a vigilant eye on whats going on.

It means the supporters need to act if things aren't right. that what it means.

Its a bit like politics these days.

if the party isn't doing the job, then the people take action.

Every F*#king supporter was there WYL. If it be watching on TV, sitting with the sponsors (BTW, only sponsors get suitable seats on Grand Final day)or ppl like yourself who would have sat somewhere near the back row of the Great Southern.

We know what happened, we got flogged by what should have been one of the modern great teams in history.

BTW, the best seat in he house is always the TV. Good commentary and analysis from experts. I would never trust your analysis becaue you sat and watched the game live. 15000 of your post are forgetable (and I'm being generous), why would I trust your opinion coz you watched the game live.

You have a simplistic way of looking at things. We gotflogge equals ND being a bad coach. For the sake of this site hold back on the posts and wait until you have something intelligent to say

Glad you enjoyed the Rollercoaster ride so much.

I didn't.

I had a great seat in the old smokers stand btw. Saw everything in 2000.

Waited till the end to.

Spot on ! I'll trade the Danna years for what we've been put through since any time.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
