Just who are the Casey Scorpions?

I am a bit bewildered as to who the Casey Scorpions are and who they fit in with Melbourne's game plan for 2013? How does Rohan Welsh fit in with Mark Neeld's coaching plans? How does their leadership team get a match when there are enough Melbourne-listed players to field a team without calling upon the Casey-listed players. Where can one access a list of the Casey-listed players and their profiles? How many would push out players from our list? Who coaches them when the Melbourne list is announced on a Thursday evening and presumably the Melbourne-listed players train under Neeld up till that time? Last year Bates was their B&F and Melbourne players helped them to a monor premiership, only to withdraw players before the finals. I have illustrated (see teams below) how I see the association in action presuming that we continue with our minimal injury scenario however I would love to hear others view on exactly how the relationship is to work out as a Win-Win for both Clubs because at present Casey supporters may not see many of their players on the paddock.

Did they chuck the maximum number of AFL listed players in one team rule? That used to ensure there were a few randoms in every side.

No doubt when our players start dropping like flies ten minutes into the NAB Cup a few spaces will open up for A. Random from Dingley and mates.

Some MFC players who have been qualified to play in VFL finals have opted out due to their lack of contribution in the overall season, wanting the regular players to get their just reward, rather than replacing them.

Didn't say it was Casey, it was Sandringham actually, when they were aligned with MFC. No reason to say it still doesn't happen.

This still doesn't answer questions relating to who coaches them or who do they answer to during the week (or where does one find a list of Casey players).

Isn't there a minimum number of VFL games that an AFL-listed player has to play before being eligible to play VFL finals?

1. Should find a list of Casey players on their website. Id say at best 5 Casey guys play but throw in injuries and the number is back to 11. Neeld said last year players will play at the level needed so don't be surprised to see guys In the Casey reserves if battling!

2. The coach (welsh) is in charge of the players come game day however the players primary employer is MFC so overall they take priority. In the past the vfl coaches have had official roles within MFC but if that's not the case then they still have an unofficial role. These days the line coach and line development coach go and see casey games when possible and that lets them provide a constant message.

The alignments in general and very fluid bit like inc!!!

Thanks for your response to my post. I am now somewhat clearer after viewing the Casey Scorpions website which I had not viewed before (relying instead on a link that used to be on the MFC website)
