Integrity of the AFL on the Line

Yes, and if someone is run out of the footy business because of this, and decides to sue, it would be very interesting to see what would happen in a court case. I am sure there are a great many people working hard to make sure it never goes to court.

When they decided to follow up McLean's self-serving little assertions they set themselves on a dangerous path. Perhaps they are hoping that Melbourne doesn't have the money to look to the courts for protection.

If the principles of natural justice force the investigation into the Kreuzer Cup - and a bit of Carlton money starts heading the courts way - the legal bun fight would supply Caro with articles well into her retirement!!

Tippett will be forced to GWS through the PSD, so that GWS don't lose a young draft pick, under threat of deregistration if he refuses. It is called INTEGRITY.

His salary will be exempt from the GWS salary cap under the new club rule which basically says that the AFL can do whatever the hell it pleases, whenever it wants.

He could take over Izzy's ambassadorial role and salary (no net effect on salary cap)

This is all kind of funny to me, here in the States tanking isn't THAT bad of a thing. I mean, it's looked down upon, but it'd never be investigated or anything like that. A few years ago the top draft choice in the NFL was Andrew Luck. Fans of teams in contention to finish last called it "Suck for Luck." Of course no coaches or players ever said they were tanking but among fans it's just kind of shaken off.

There's some evidence the Cleveland Cavaliers tanked to get Lebron James, but here in the states for some reason it doesn't have the same stigma that it does over there. Or maybe the leagues here just don't care.

Reading you post fits with my unease about all this.

Demitriou has said all along that list management is allowed but tanking is not. Understandably, as other clubs have done likewise.

But now this year, all of a sudden the media start driving this thru a former player now with the blues? Many changes are taking place at the moment around the AFL with Carlton changing coaches & much change within the free agency areas & trading.

If Demitriou says list management is OK, but now there is a change of tack from within the AFL itself behind closed doors, is this a play against us, or is there a power play going on within the AFL?

Is Demitriou safe himself? Is someone working to destabilise his position within the organisation?

Or are there bigger questions about MFC, other than the Draft questions, coming out of the AFL?

Is Fitxpatrick after something, or is Gillon McLachlan up to something?

Something does not fit right in all this, from getting the stamp of approval last year, to investigations this year.

Too many stories came out of the club..

We had a plan, but we didn't really know what it was exactly....The Art of winning was wanted but nobody knew how to get there...it had been too long.

That's the way i see it so far.....We need outside people to reignite the club..no emotions...hard work. Jobs for friends/mates is over imo.

Not all will agree, but what is the alternative when we have all seen the results for decades??

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
