Well the youth approach has failed dismally, let's get Dad's Army together and see how they go.

FACT: spotted getting tour of AAMI park with the 2 jacks about half an hour ago.

righto....

righto....

work in news, was done in area, literally bumped into them.

We're gonna go all the way in 2013!!!

So excited. ;-)

Rodan ? No

Probably thought Port had a Rodin.... that would look good upon Schwabby's desk :)

not sure about Rodan but would certainly make a big play for Mothra (although I think he may be going to Adelaide under the F/S rule -his dad being Tony Mothra)

Good spot Demon3. It's a shame you didn't spot Dangerfield, Toby Greene and Gary Ablett as well...

There are pictures online to back up his tour of the club today. It's true.

If we take Rodan but let Gysberts go I'll scream, shout, cry and seriously spit-the-dummy!

Umm why claims that and bother making a post if you're not going to post the photo?

He's an exciting player, but he seems to do a knee every year. If's it's not a full reco it's a 6 week PCL, or whatever is the equivalent of a 6 week knee.

Agreed. Rodan certainly does play with an element of flair and takes the game on at every contest. Don't see the harm in picking him up if the price is right (which should be next to nothing).

I know David and he is a top class bloke.

He is super fit ,and his knee is fine.

Can play forward crumber and midfield. Very quick and skilled.

Will add experience and a touch of excitement.

Byrnes and Rodan would give us 2 experienced, zippy crumbing forwards

Both come at no cost (except their small salaries)

We have been crying out for small forwards for 5 or 6 years

His knee is always fine.

Until it's not.

Watch people opinions of Rodan change as he gets closer to wearing our colours ahaha

Seriosuly though, it makes me sick to think we'd offer Rodan a contract yet have retired Green, and seemingly didnt do eveything we could to retain McDonald, Bruce, Rivers and Moloney

You have to treat every case on its own merits.

i just hope drafting these types isnt highlighting the FD having a case of 'the grass is always greener' when it comes to older types.

If we had 50 spots on the list then sure why not??

But if he makes the starting 22, which of the players we are trying to develop stays at Casey?

He is not in my best 22 at this stage. Clearly I am missing something.

I think people's opinions will change in the positive, he might even become a bit of a cult hero.

Remember it's speculative with all these players we are picking up, if 3 or 4 of them become regular senior players next year it will be a good result.

Will strengthen our list.

To have experienced players while our kids develop is what we have been missing.

Green retired ,McDonald left 3 years ago, Bruce is also long gone,Moloney and Rivers were desperate for a change and good luck to them.

I'd prefer we didn't pick him up.

I like the player, i don't mind the risk of injury (given his price), but from the limited times i saw him this season, his characteristic zip and x-factor seem to have diminished. 1 or 2 years ago, I would have been happy to have him.

watch the last quarter of the rd 23 port vs tiges game. His zip and evasive skills broke the tiges press and he was instrumental in port getting back in the game and forcing a draw. Based on this and costing us relatively nothing, no issue with it.
