MFC site in an article by Matt Burgan says we will remain an active player in trades.

Clearly we will be only a minor player at the draft. JV, pick 4 and maybe 1 other will probably see us out on ND draft day.

At the end of the Dawes article it says

"Melbourne is expected to remain active for the duration of the trade period"

WTF else do we have left to trade???

Selling some of our spuds to the unwary, I'd assume. At least that would be the hope.

I assume we will find a home for Martin, and possibly Gysberts and Petterd, get Pedersen, and look at an experienced mid that is a cheap option.

I'm not so sure that Martin will be leaving, especially since he wasn't included in the Dawes trade. I wouldn't be disappointed if he stays, because if Jamar goes down, I think he's the only person on our list that at this stage is capable of handling #1 ruck duties.

I couldn't care less about Gysberts and Petterd...it would be nice to get something in return for them, but if no one bites, delisting them is better than carrying passengers into 2013.

I laughed.

He'll have more when he's finished trawling BigFooty, the Herald-Sun and the Facebook Draft page.

Hi level humor there boys, loving your insightful contributions!

You forgot to mention random tweets by searching"demons trade", my very favorite resource!

Feel free not to read anytime :)

I don't know how many times I need to clarify that all I do is type the things I hear in my workplace, using a min 2 source rule as the only filter.

It seems while many appreciate the info, (of which many were never mentioned in any media before here & have afterwards mind you, not that I really concern myself with that but its accurate) & have the adequate IQ to both understand how to take it, whilst also being fully aware of just how many deals/swaps/players/picks etc get mooted about by AFL clubs, Managers, players etc at this time of year - thus knowing that at best, 1-2% of all discussed deals will ever get past mild discussion, let alone actually be submitted - thats just how it is!

So that'll do from me, as I said when I returned this year - I wanted to give some info to those who would enjoy it & being a mad Demons man, I know how much I like hearing all the random football scuttlebutt from people in the business.

So, Iam done reading snide remarks from members of this board (albeit few) & wasting my time responding - so Its time I bid farewell!

cheers

Either way jamar or Martin as our number 1 ruck with Grundy (only going of reports he is ready) 2nd Ruck/forward?

Hi Nudge

Firstly thanks for your "inside info posts" very enjoyable, of course anyone would be naive to think many or most trades and delistings would come to fruition. as like all clubs the mfc would have a plan of attack and see what transpires.

I for one (and probably speak for majority demonlanders) would be dissapointed if you no longer felt you wanted to contribute to this forum.

Let me get this straight:

29 year old ruckman/25 year old potential ruckman + flaky medium forward/flaky yet determined medium back = Pick 3?

Yep that's the question I asked. Maybe Martin garland and petterd for pick 3 is more reasonable? I still think ricky has good potentiol but is onviously on the outer with the dees, but hey that's only my opinion.

I have heard that Collingwood are looking at one of their kids to become FF and continue with Lynch as back-up ruck for the reason that Lynch is dangerous when not in the ruck - which will be most of the time. This is why Martin can't be 2nd ruck - he will spend most of his time in the fwd line and he is a terrible fwd. We can't keep a guy as back-up for Jamar when he cannot play with Jamar. He has some trade value and that is of interest to me.

Who do you think we would ship Martin off to, then? He is contracted for another season, so he would have to agree to the trade. I believe he is studying a combined science/law degree at Melbourne, so I don't think he will want to move interstate. That limits the options.

So who died and made you King rpfc???

I completely understand why Nudge would decide withdraw from posting what he has heard. Each time he has listed some rumors he has suggested that what he was listing was just what he has heard from around the club and that if people couldn't appreciate it, or were going to just take pot shots at the rumors then he'd probably remove himself. He's just been consistent with those prior statements yet you feel you have a right to come in and have a go at him for doing exactly what he suggested he would do.

Yeah this is the internet, but that does not mean that providing others with respect all of a sudden becomes unnecessary. Nor does it provide anyone with a right to have a go at another person. Voice an opinion on the rumor, but don't have a go at the person.

Get over yourself will you, and show some respect for people on here (like Nudge) that actually try to contribute for the sake of all on the board.

Now don't go getting defensive now......

Actually, the response to Nudge/Chilliboy this year has been the most cordial I can remember in the years he has been on here.

Did you know that Land enjoys his posts at this time of the year every year?

And that the idiots who get stuck into him are at all time lows?

He is more than welcome to post his rumour and we all enjoy reading them.

I am simply 'over' him taking offence as an excuse to pizz off for months.

And as for being defensive - of course I am. I am king of Demonland...(IWUAEHIIUE)

Nudge's OP in his first thread ranks as the most "liked" post since we brought the like system in and the OP in this thread ranks 9th. Honestly, if he can't take a pot shot or two in amongst what is highest rated content in the entire site, he must have the world's thinnest skin.

I'm with rp on this believe it or not. Personally I appreciate updates from Nudge and what he quoted and took offence to was a real simple joke really that put a smile on a few faces.

I cannot see how such a joke could be taken such offence to.

We have summer approaching so I hope Nudge can kick back with a cold beer and take it easy as he sounds quite stressed and a bit uptight at the moment, most likely from other factors outside of DL.

Ok fair points rpfc. I'll acknowledge I haven't been on this board as long as some, but I get really peeved when people have a go at others and not their opinions. It's just something I have little tolerance for.

It's good to hear that some of the behaviours are changing. With a better understanding of the history of all this, I probably would have gone a little easier on you in my last post. This is the first offseason I've been this active on here (I just really get into the Free Agency stuff). So I'll acknowledge my naievity regarding this pattern of behaviour from Nudge and go back into my corner now ;)

Read my mind Nasher. I'm assuming from Nudge's comments he works in the footy management business, I can't imagine you'd get to far in that industry without a pretty thick skin (and probably not without a pretty large dose of good ol Aussie bloke misogyny based on comments from Dawes manager who said something along the lines of "he needs to stay in Melbourne because his partner is very intelligent and has a career unlike most wags - sorry girls i like looking at you but really").

Nudge you seem a sensitive soul - i wonder if the hurly burly of footy management is really for you?
