Well theres nothing like a disgruntled/disenchanted sportsman to provide a channel of 'commuincation' to readily listening media.

The sooner the Dees have a clear out the better.

We have been clearing out for the last 3 or 4 years...

yes I suppose we have, but theres obviously a judas amongst the list.

This is the first opportunity of the current regime to start its purge coming from a standpoint of its own knowledge, not just the dosiers left behind.

Even if you're right now isn't the time to do it. Now is the time to batten down the hatches and show that we'll only march to the beat of our own drum. Can we stand firm ?

I have a pretty good idea who they are. Not hard to narrow down the suspects.

And as for Roos....He may have won a flag but is responsible for turning football into a nearly unwatchable game....

End Rant

totally agree

made this point in another thread but its worth making again...

'12 - 2 wins

'11 - 8 wins

'10 - 8 wins

'9 - 4 wins

'8 - 3 wins

'7 - 5 wins

30 wins over 6 years - 30 out of 127 games

and we are accused of tanking?

My god there is a lot of paranoia out there. This is the story of the week, which is evidently of the slow news variety. Next week it will be something else, and no one will remember

Has been the pattern all year. Footy journos are second only to the political variety in generating their own news, though I'm beginning to wonder about that order...

Now, let's watch the papers re: club training and injuries.

How many players will now have 'early' operations in preparation for October preseason?

Particularly those who can't make the eight?

List management, AFL.....

I'm counting on it .

A large part of my Supercoach strategy is waiting for the young kids to start getting late games so I can cash in and upgrade late in the season.

Bad enough that some has-been ex player is airing the dirt on national TV, but if this sort of garbage has come from players who are still on the payroll, they should be hung out to dry (behind closed doors of course).

I'm thinking Chris Johnson style exist.

I always saw McLeans Dept Demolition 10K as a sly attempt to buy the captaincy.

That is my recollection.

The fact contract differences were not a point of discussion in the interview is a serious flaw in the whole interview. Make no mistake it was agenda driven. Healey was jumping out of his skin to get to "tanking".

the bulk of them against struggling non-victorian sides

maybe 4-5 decent wins the whole time

how awesome has it been

State govt. asking for please explain.

Integrity officer doing investigating.

If we get done for this, despite being so totally crap for 6 years, and no one else does when lots of others have, I will go on a shooting spree.

Our general crapness actually works in our favor. Surely it proves a history of being non-competitive.

You only have to point to this year and see that players are playing out of position. This year everyone knows it's because we don't have the cattle.

In retrospect it looks odd but at the time of the accusations we were a struggling team just doing what we needed to do to get a better understanding of our list.

If we get hung out to dry for this then it's going to start an all out war. Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn and WCE are all implicated. Last time I checked most of those clubs are at the other end of ladder to us. The only thing that can happen is that the AFL provide an amnesty and put in place a more severe deterrent.

But I agree. If they come for us and us alone on this then it stinks of hypocrisy and they will have a MFC lead riot to contend with.

Pitchforks and Blazers at dawn!

What Brock said was true. Whys everyone shooting the messenger? If people think this year has been our lowest, you've obviously forgotten the indignity of following a club throwing matches and supporters cheering losses. I agree with Brock as it also went against everything I believed in as well.

If Brock had a moral problem with it why did he join known tankers Carlton?

What a load of rot.

I get your anger regarding the situation Pipefitter, but you can't side with Mclean on this. He went to play for the team that wrote the handbook on tanking.

Tanking a "developing issue" for Demons ... http://www.theage.co...0731-23d36.html

That article draws a parallel that simply doesn't exist in it's very first sentence....

'FORMER Melbourne ruckman Paul Johnson has added weight to Brock McLean's claims of tanking in 2009, saying player development, rather than winning, was the priority under former coach Dean Bailey.'

Choosing Player Development over winning does not equal tanking. Otherwise we could be accused of tanking in 2012 by picking Neeld as coach and changing our game plan.

The fact that we EVER put Paul Johnson on the ground is a sign of tanking .What a great big friggin waste of time he is.

Ruckmen with his lack of guts and skill come along rarely .

The more I look at it-we just sucked really bad-if that is what tanking is.

What a Parasite that list clogger was .

Paul Johnson throwing his hat in the ring too, presumably along the lines of "they even let me play afl, what more proof do you need??"

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
