Brent Stanton

Rumour has it this morning that Brent Stanton, is having difficulties coming to terms with the Bombers.

They offered a pile of money to keep Hurley, but arent offering slanton enough dollars or years.

He is 26 Years old and a good run and spread high possesion mid.

I think we should chase him now that Boak is signing with Port

Would be a good get IMO. We need accumulators.

I think he'd be a better player away from Essendon too.

Could be a reasonable proposition. Seem to recall own Essendon supporters giving it to him in the past. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Absolutely.

We are not in a position to say no to a Stanton type player.

That's not going to do it.

Being the whipping boy of Essendon supporters doesn't mean you're not good enough. It just means that Bombers fans like to eat someone when things aren't going well.

Maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Restricted free agent. Give the Bombers nothing.

We need experienced players around this age bracket.

I'd Love to Hear the Bombres fans Booing him again,,, In a Demons Jumper.

It's a YES from me ... we need any good player

and me, but , it will NOT happen

Form's dropped off a bit, though - started like a gun!!

He was going that well, he would've taken votes off Jobe. More boos coming from bomber fans.

Decent player. definitely a target for restricted. will have to price bombers out of it. not sure i can justify something like 2.2mil for 4 years for Stanton.

If he doesnt cost us a player/pick and we have the coin, would be a good fit.

Hi Dee Zee

Stanton came out with all guns blazing at the start of the season and was almost in the elite category. He has severely dropped off. He reminds me of the Steven Stretch type or perhaps Steven Tingay though not as good as the latter. IMO would advise a pass on Stanton and go for a Boak. We have a Stanton coming. Morton??

Stanton would be a good fit for us, he's mid 20's and has just started to pay out for the bombers..... At the very least, we can push his price up....

Another player to look at from the bombers is Dyson...... Hasn't had much of a chance there...... free agent (would get him for almost nothing), good kick, run and carry, mature body, easy to cull when the youth comes on (think Joel Macdonald)....... Money ball...

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
