Don't know if it's been mentioned before now, but that after the siren goal and ensuing celebration by K HUNT (sorry, I had to do that), has probably had more of an impact on the AFL's press into NRL territory than all of Vlad and Co's efforts thus far.

I don't think so, there are probably 3 or so players in the competition that deserve $1m per year I'd have Hunt in the $150k to $200k category. He's a battler at best.

Port really and GWS and GC

I think the Dogs have an interesting finish to the season, they could easily not win another game for the season, no easy games ie Port GWS or GC for them. They are 3 wins ahead of us at present though

I think we'll struggle to beat Port and the Gold Coast, they're both capable of playing better football than us at the moment and our injury list is a worry. Plus we play Port in Darwin which will be a draining match, and Gold Coast the week after, we always seem to suffer after our Darwin game.

I think I heard somewhere that the press, media buildup, sponsorship awareness etc. raised by the signing of Karmichael had already covered the cost of his contract before he'd even debuted. In terms of AFL exposure in the Rugby regions which, let's be honest, is the only reason he's paid that much - I'd say he's proven worth it for the AFL definitely. Certainly not worth that money on playing ability, but that's really beside the point.

Re GWS

I think GWS is in a very difficult position and I question if this is the best way to spend money at this time to make GWS successful

Success for AFL in Western Sydney will equate to on-field success more so than in Vic

GWS has already shifted from Blacktown due to lack of council support

Breakfast Point will close at the end of this season as it is too expensive

GWS are still looking for a (more) permanent home

Their training facilities are the worst in the league operating out of prefab sheds with inadequate equipment

I think they have higher priorities than blowing $6M on IF
