Jurrah off now, maybe a knee or ankle, unsure yet, doesn't look terrible but definitely doesn't look good

Honestly do you really believe it solves anything?

Definitely can help a DEE's supporter let off steam, with the sheer frustration of being a supporter of our great club, we's got to have our release, and it's com'n thick and fast, so b it. smile people's, yer alive

Yeah well done Sylvia, just have a chat and a laugh with the guys that just flogged you by 100 points.

[censored] off Colin having a good laugh after the game! [censored]

Sylvia smiling after the game....I'm sure he said to Kennedy, "hopefully I'll be playin with u guys next year"

Keep them out on the ground Neeld. Don't let them hide after that embarrassment.

We won the clearances some how. All our biggest ball winners were our young players. The old players have to go. This is crisis time.

Ok - we lost. How do we regroup and come out to face the Blues next week?

We can't. You don't "re-group" if you were never together to start with.

We won't win a game this year.

Herald Sun Back Page Tomorrow........

"Eddie denies rumor that Neeld is a secret agent!"

how do we regroup? How do we survive?

Can we forfeit the rest of the year? We'd come out with a better percentage.....

There's a game on in Sydney today at 4.40pm and I thought I'd get in early because all week I've had this gut feeling that the Demons would record their first win of the season. I based that on the fact that the club's injury woes seem to be diminishing to reasonable levels whilst the Swans, without Goodes, Mumford and Rohan and with a few others out of form, are in a spot of bother. They're ripe for the picking even if the game is on their home patch and a place where Melbourne hasn't played for several years. I also believe that the tight confines might suit us a little better while we're coming to grips with the new game plan.

Since team selection on Thursday, I've grown more confident about our winning prospects. The blokes we've picked and those we haven't dropped give the team a bit of flair and, dare I say, pace. I'm hoping that today we're going to be less one-paced and show a bit more out of the midfield and into attack than we have so far this year. A good start and accurate disposal around the ground and in front of goals will help.

But what really got me going was the realisation that today, for the first time, we will have all of the players displayed on the 2012 Demonland banner (above) in our starting 22. Jimmy won't be there but I'm sure his spirit will be hovering over the SCG to spur our blokes on to victory.

And what a great tribute it is to the AFL Indigenous Round that we have Jamie Bennell, Aaron Davey and Liam Jurrah in the side? In what must be one of the toughest seasons in our rich history these blokes have really done it tough and this evening will be the perfect time for them to retake their rightful places within the team and the game they play.

So those who might scoff at my confidence about today, it's more than just "the vibe" as Tiriel Mora would say in The Castle but rather, it's built on solid ground. I hope that in around 11 hours' time we'll be celebrating Mark Neeld's first win!

Me too..

perhaps we are not tanking.

perhaps we are match fixing??

Anyone who ever says we ever tanked can have a good hard look at themselves !

Players need to be told to have a private meeting, then send out a player to explain to the world where their collective minds are at.

If they get away with these sort of efforts then they will continue to just put out their hands for the pay cheques. Every one of them needs to take full responsibilty for the danger they are putting the whole club into! Seriously we are now in grave danger of total club collapse. The soft supporters will whinge again and again, whilst the stronger ones will demand EFFORT!

I am ashamed of their recent efforts and they have proved to me how much ticker each and every one of them has.

Neeld also must now take some responsibility. His methods have seen the whole playing list regress massively and perform worse than most of us could ever remember. Do something different. Many of our so called senior players must never play a senior game again. Shame on them too. I'd like any player with a bit of gumption to come out and say that they will now put their body on the line to protect the very existence of this club............anyone................hello players................anyone! Weak as p155!

How about this...

All MFC players who were on ground for the Swans game will donate their match payment to Reach/Some Indigenous program/Auskick...

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
