Cloke a Demon....?

Recommended Posts

We need midfielders!!

This to me says we have no confidence in Watts or Cook making it as a forward. Also what is the point in drafting Clark as a forward? 2 big forwards don't always work, just ask Brisbane. Also how do we get the ball down there enough to utilise these two gorillas?

Doesn't make sense, I smell shinanagons.

LOL!

It switches back and forth with you lot.

"We need KPP!"

Would be some coup, but I can't quite see it myself......................but then again I didn't see Clark coming to the Dees either....................so go get him boys!

Too right. Gotta be in it to win it.

Nobody saw Mitch in a Demon jumper until it happened. This club has got to act hard and fast, the last 4 years (now 5) have been a total disaster on field.

We must keep our members.

IMO there is little chance that he would come to melbourne,

Why would he leave the Pies to come to club that will struggle to play finals in the next three years.

It has been reported that Freo and GWS are after him with large offers.

Which would choose if you were travis?

Not a hard decision for me Freo has a good team looks like they can feature in a GF in the next couple of years

Or you could go to melbourne and spend the majority of your career playing with an average team at best over the next 3 years.

Even GWS would look better at present.

IMO he will stay with the Pies, he is just trying to maximise his salary.

Unless of course he's one of the players who allegedly doesn't like Buckley and he does not want to leave Victoria...

We do need another marking target forward. For various reasons Watts, Martin and Sellar aren't it. Howe and Jurrah are 3rd tall options not keys. We would be better off playing Clark mainly forward and relieving Jamar in the ruck. Jamar played 84% game time on Friday - he can ruck 75% of the game and Clark 25% if we have another genuine target.

As posted earlier - if the offer drives Cloke's price up and Sidebottom or Beams fall out then - hey!!!

This is the best-case scenario, for mine. Doubt we'll get Sidebottom, they'll surely want to lock him in, but Beams...........

Is it possible that Jamar may have intimated that he is looking at moving on and they are looking at Cloke as a forward option so that Clark can be freed up for more rucking duties? It certainly worked for the Hawks with Buddy and Roughhead. And who's to say they don't have their eye on an established midfielder as well... I expect that under Neeld we will be pretty active during trade "week".

I seem to remember Brown and Bradshaw working alright. Other teams also have played two big forwards and had success; Pods and Hawkins, Franklin and Rough, Dawes and Cloke, Riewoldt and Kosi, etc

Anyhow, I don't see Clark as a 'gorilla'; sure, he's a big guy, but he's got more to his game than just standing under a high ball. He can work up the ground on a lead, is pretty decent when the footy is on the ground, can run around in the ruck, etc.

People seem to forget that even if GWS and freo go for him, he ll have to relocate.

If MFC offer the same and train 100m away from where he is now then why would he prefer to go to GWS or freo

Exactly.. which "lot" would that be? I've said we need nothing but midfielders. Surely we have enough KPP options.

I've wondered if Neeld's mates at Collingwood would be off-limits for poaching. Clearly they're the players he knows best, but also he's got a strong relationship and alliance to FD people still there and I think that's important - there are 16 other teams to hit - I wouldn't blame him if he said they're off-limits, but I hope he doesn't.

Old I would hope he alliance with his new team would superceed any alliance he has with FD people at his old club. I believe they would try to do something like this to us one day. If memory serves correct there were some talks about Collingwood wanting to get Scully, although that may have been speculation from Demonalnd who knows.

Beams would be an awesome get.

Oh my giddy aunt, there is no way cloke would come to the dees on current form!

Lucky for us we have 15 games to show we are moving in the right directing and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I suggest we revisit this come round 20 and see how opinions have changed.

this isn't going to end well ...

I know.

Our problems would all be solved if we didn't recruit choirboysTM, ad nauseum...

Beams should come nowhere near the club if we actually value culture.

The kid is a human stain.

And overrated in my book. The only Collingwood midfielder I would touch is Pendles.

How many game breaking KPFs did Geelong have in its 2007-11 run? Hawkins only came good right at the end of last year.

Dont want Cloke. Let's continue to develop our own list first, then throw money at a player when we're off the bottom.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
