Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Friday Night in the Stands - rough?

Anyone else have a tough time of it? We sat in our regular seats - Q49 - and copped personal attacks from Dawks fans from the word go. We were threatened, abused, told to shut up, sworn at and spat on. Worst experience I've ever had at a match by a very long way.

There was a fight over in the Bay 13 area and there's been other things I've seen and heard about from Friday night, including beers being tipped over people etc.

Sorry Striker I don't care who they are or how big they are spitting to me is the lowest thing anyone can do to another, it warrants a good hiding and IMO the hiding is justified. I hope you acted appropriatley

If it was the soccer it would be back page of the Herald Sun, but as the AFL and clubs have power over teh journalists it doesn't get reported as it doesn't work with the family friendly atmosphere. Had similar experience Friday night with a couple rat bag Hawks supporters

Was my usual vocal self at the game - towards the game, not towards the supporters. Some of the vitriol was disgusting. And I honestly believe that if my girlfriend wasn't with us that we would have been attacked. There were kids around too - Hawthorn-supporting kids, and the garbage the adults near them were yelling at us was filthy. Reminds me of the stories of Victoria Park to be honest, it was that bad.

Returned fire with the voice, but I wasn't going to do anything too over the top. I didn't have much of a choice though, we copped it from literally the 2 minute mark.

Is there not a text message number displayed under the scoreboard or somewhere that advocates you can text the ground about unruly, disgusting or violent behavior?

I'll be honest, when there's 40 Hawthorn supporters up against 2 MFC supporters and a neutral I think there's only going to be one group asked to move, and it's not going to be the Hawks fans.

Really, 40 against 2!.... gee, brave arnt they.....

Might be exaggerating there, but might not to be honest - we were the second row. The entire row in front of us (literally, 10-15 people) got up, turned around and mouthed off at me, the six people to our left cracked it and there were easily 10-12 behind us who didn't stop abusing us. All over hearing some support for the opposite team.

I'm just disgusted to hear this Striker . Not sure what you could have done really .

You stood your ground and didn't move . That would have annoyed them . They failed in their endeavors .

They'll all cop their right whack one day . Just remember (Censored) things happen to (censored) people .

Was sitting in the MCC as usual. My vocal supporting seemed to gall a family of Whorethorn supporters, who then proceeded to call my family and I "Upper class snobs", to which I reminded them of where they were sitting. Didn't have a reply for that one, but they didn't seem too bright either. Naturally, their smarmy comments continued, still directed at their feet, too scared to actually direct it at us. It's funny, Whorethorn supporters are usually one of the main offenders that trot out the line "upper class", yet it's actually fast becoming their reputation.

I was in my normall seat on level 2 southern stand and saw a fight in bay 13 it was 1 melbourne fan with his 2 kids and about 15 hawks fans trying to fight him. The hawks fans looked maybe 17 or 18 and were very drunk. But this melbourne guy stood right up to this one punk with a big mouth and in coward fasion he walked back behinde his 15 hawk mates and was saying come here. The security come down and took about 5 of the drunk hawks fans out and all the redlegs and trident fans near me give the security a good cheer. The security was very good and the melbourne fan got to watch the rest of our bad performance with his 2 kids.

this is why i pay the extra cash and have a reserved seat trident membership in olympic stand so i dont have to put up with opposition supporters, i was an AFL member before i got the trident and the abuse i had to put up with especially from pies supporters it was disgusting

and only a matter of time before i ended up in a fight and that is the last thing i want to go to footy 4

Striker... I was at the game on Friday night sitting in q49 with a few of my mates and we were maybe 2-3 rows behind you. You wear a jumper with no 11 on your back right? If that was you mate all I can say is I was absolutely disgusted at what you were copping and was this close to coming down and telling all those dawks to shut the f**k up and leave you alone. You were doing nothing untoward just being vocal at the game (as we are to) and its ridiculous that you have to put up with that!! If I see you again at the footy and you're copping it I won't make the same mistake twice and I will come down and fly the flag for you. This club needs more supporters like you and good on ya mate we all think you're a legend. Have a great weekend champ and go dees!!!

Agree. And all this "flying the flag" stuff is dumb. Dont get entangled with the idiots. You become no better than them

I have used and seen the texting of unruly behaviour employed to very good effect. In both cases security/groundsstaff frequented the area promptly in an obvious fashion to let all know they were there.

in one case they warned then evicted the offending supporter(s). In the other, the offending parties went mysteriously quiet.

I dont know why posters/supporters feel the need to become involved/interject with ratbags. If you do you only open yourself to a series of potential and drastic outcomes that you cant control.

Get smart and either text the bad behaviour or move. Its dumb (and not tuff) to get yourself involved with d!ckheads like that.

I was at the game with my 3 year old on friday night and there was abuse from the 6 people sitting behind me dropping the c & f bomb constantly and not worrying about the kids around. Although most of it was directed at the game, I did ask them to stop the swearing, and that was when I copped a mouthful on a few occasions and this was from melbourne supporters!

Yep, found a loudmouth hawk-supporter idiot sitting with his daughter sitting near us.

One polite well-considered retort got inside his head and had him quiten down and moving seats at the next change.

Sitting on level 4 in the MCC section was certainly no fun.

Abuse and vitriol flying everywhere!

And I always thought the Melbourne v Hawthorne game was the "Leafy Eastern Suburbs Derby" ^_^ !

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
