Grimes injured

Featured Replies

Grimes walking off in a sling is a scare though, lets hope its minor.

Precautionary these days I think mate. Like players with leg injuries coming off on crutches now.... Well I hope so anyway.

The Future Fund season launch is tonight - they sponsor Grimes, Watts and Garland so will be interesting to see if he attends.

We should know more shortly after 6pm I'd imagine. Hopefully he's there and will be ok.

Fingers crossed.

Indeed daveytrain1.

If he's ok the hand should be back on. So much hinges on the scan of one player...Nevermind the rest of the team and 4 weeks from the start of the season.

you dont hear of geelong, hawthorn or richmond ever having as many injuries as we do in any pre season

How about Jonno Brown, now there's a sorry story.....................

At least he has played a full season before

This is [censored]!

Is there a way to literally wrap a player up in cotton wool and still have them play effectively?!

I cannot believe that you are here being a clever head about our captain being injured. Enjoying your moment? Now personal abuse is wrong and all, so all I'd ask is that you go away. You add nothing other than to publically enjoy another man's suffering and use it to moan about things you clearly do not understand. Pick up your bags and kick your can somewhere else.

Well that's a little embarrassing Tim D... try reading posts more.

Unfortunately SMF I think grimes would get injured playing cards.

Sad but true.

settle down fella, and what don't i understand here?

So LJ hurt his wrist in Rd 23 last year, and it's still not right!

Talk about a shambles.

Hmmm Sean Charles.......

Shattered for grimesy. Hoping that it's nothing too serious but only time and scans will tell. Hypothetically if it is a serious one I can't imagine how soul destroying it would be to miss the best part of a year of footy, finally get back and put in a big pre season, get named captain of the club then in a training mishap it all comes crashing down in the matter of seconds.

If he is out for a few months does it mean more pressure on Trengove as sole captain?

Hell "a few months" is potentially the season or ours anyway!

I doubt Trengove will be under any more pressure, If Grimes is long term they might add another captain!

i wouldnt have thought so!

The video doesnt show it low enough for a dislocation. I am still sticking with sublax.

When I dislocated my shoulder, my collarbone stuck out across alot more, but his shoulder muscles are a little bigger then mine.

Stingers hurt, they do, not as much as dislocations but still more then your hamstring, knee sorta thing.

I still have my hopes.

And in terms of cracking, that could have been anything, doubt it was directly related.

Thanks jnrmac I had managed to forget that sorry saga

Just heard on the radio that it is not as bad as first thought. It was said that the injury doesn't seem too bad.

I think it was the sound of my heart breaking.

Oh well, this may give Tynan more game time to develop. "Always look on the briiiight side of life" .

It's pretty rare for any team to have their best 22 out there for Rnd 1.

Fingers crossed but I don't like the look of the pain he was going through.

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
