How do clubs go about their business when they haven't been told the TPP salary cap for 2012- due to the ongoing AFL-AFLPA stand-off ?

The clubs have recently been told what the TPP is going to be. It hasn't gone down well with the AFLPA from what I'm aware.

That is strange. According to SEN this morning they haven't been told.

Is there a link or anything reported as to what the TPP cap is ?

Current deal rolls over until superseded

I thought the AFL had advised clubs some week ago in regards to the TPP. But according to The Age it was today.

Looks as though Fair Work Australia will be involved now.

Someone just told me that they heard:

Bate to St Kilda

R. Clarke to Melbourne

Please tell me it was Kim Hagdorn.

Raph Clarke - oh my lordy lord.

Crowley may be on the way back to Vic, if Bate, Maric or Warnock want out, that could be a fair trade...not sure what Crowley would bring other than a bit of carnt.

I'd prefer that combined with a bit of can too!

Absolute HOGWASH - why on earth would we take Raf Clarke? Laughable suggestion. I've been listening to Trade Week Radio all day and there has been no suggestion whatsoever of Clarke to Melbourne and we wouldn't be stupid enough to do it. He is a dud of the highest order!

Heard Ben Warren is on the trade table and maybe heading our way. His first preference is Geelong because of the surf. Geelong & Melbourne are the two clubs in the mix.

I think he has alot of upside. Still young!

Tom Lynch of St. Kilda is more likely than Raph Clarke.

Lynch is one of Watts' best mates and plays forward.

I think someone has been winding me up.

I'll wait for confirmation next time!

Stating on another site that we are in discussions with Port for their 6th pick.

Do we think this is for O'Meara or are we loading up for a tilt at Goddard/Pendles etc?

Both compo picks could be gone by the end of this year, though with the age of our list this isn't a bad thing as we need an experianced player

First post...nice rumour.

How would we get pick 6 ? Port would have to be crazy.

Dunn is hard at it. I would like to see him at the club in 2012.

???? HAHAH!!!

That's the last thing I'd say he is. He's got mongrel, and certainly a mouth. But there's nothing "hard" about him. Can you picture him going up in a pack a la Cloke/Riewoldt/Riewoldt/Hall... any of the 17 team's main targets? No. He's a niggler. Not a completely useless player, and I reckon has a high footy IQ... but hard at it he is not.

This is on BF -

Port contemplating picks 12, 36 and Matty Bate from the Dees in return for pick 6 + 51.

I cant see happening either. Though I am just interested to think about whether we are chasing an established star or all about trumping GWS for O'Meara! Would be a great get if we could get it.

Port are after rucks also and we have a few on board at present!

Highly unlikely. Port would be silly to agree to that.

If it's true take it, as they say the draft is thin this year so pick 6 would be very useful. Keeps us with other cards up the sleeve to chase 17 year olds

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
