My 3 word player analysis V Power Failure

Were you there or from the limited TV screen? Did you know what the conditions were really like? Did you know what the game plan was? Did you know the instructions from the coaching panel to each player? Your effort is commendable as a knee jerk TV reaction, but meaningless in the modern game.

I didn't need to be at the ground to see ' what the conditions were like ' , and I doubt ' the game plan ' constituted Morton constantly fumbling the ball or Gysberts regularly turning it over , whilst the 'coaching panel 'probably didn't instruct Watts to fail to handle the conditions well, or , for that matter , Martin ,Sylvia and Frawley to have crackers of a game.

I just write them as I see them !

I'm a little amazed by the comments on Garland. I thought Garland had a very bad defensive game. Like his game against the bulldogs he doesn't man up, the G'banger smashed him because Garland zoned off him and I thought on Saturday night the same.

Trengove - our future Captain

Watts - our future vice Captain

Petterd, Sylvia and Martin were absolutely sensational last night, as was Frawley.

I thought Maric was very lively too - a really good game from him.

I agree with this assessment. I have been prepared to perservere with Morton but I thought he did very poorly and has had a good go - back to Casey please.

Strauss - Gone For Bartram

This is my pet hate with some posters.

The kid has beaten his opponent every week but this one, and his first down game and he's expected to be dropped for a 28year old going nowhere.

He's played 6 games, a down game was coming and just like Trengove and Scully did last year, he was beaten by his opponent.

Just because he wasn't pick 1 or 2 doesn't mean one down game requires a dropping. We're building for the future remember...

Thought Jordie McKenzie deserved higher praise in the 'three word analysis' for his job on Boak. Kept him to 15 possessions including just three in the second half. A great effort considering Boak polled three Brownlow votes in the same match last year.

Completely agree. I actually thought Boak had been injured pre-match such was his lack of impact on the game.

Boak is probably trying to work out how Jordie managed to sit next to him on the plane ride home....

- Bartram is 23. As much a part of the future as Jones, Frawley, Garland, Petterd, Sylvia et all.

- Strauss hasn't played an 'up' game this year. I wouldn't say that he has beaten his opponent every week so far. Re-watch the Dogs match, see him get thoroughly beaten.

I thought Strauss, though beaten by his opponent, was committed and put his body on the line several times.

I would rather develop Strauss than have the heart-in-your-mouth errant kicking of Bartram out of the backline.

- At this stage of the year, I would rather win a match than develop Strauss. Bartram fulfils your commitment and body on the line requirements, and IMO would do a better shut down role on Rioli than Strauss.

And the point of my comment was, I see him being replaced this week. Not 'the kids terrible, drop him' but 'Darwin will take it's toll on him, Bartram is a better in for next week'.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
