AFL Insider is pretty good too Redleg. Bit of analysis of the game and strategies, which is very good.

Won't watch it because that liar Lynch appears. My son in law said after Lynch retired he went up to him to congratulate him on his career and he turned his back on him. He has the right to be rude and lie if he want's to but I don't have to watch him on TV.

NAB cup squad appears to be falling away. 3 more out today, Morton, Blease and JT. Looks like the rookies will get a go.

The new TV series called "Luck" may appeal to those who follow horse racing . Not sure when it will hit our shores but it's quite popular in the States .

Dustin Hoffman stars .................

I appreciate that some around here frown on political discussion on this thread but with the Gillard/Rudd battle coming up on Monday I think this becomes appropriate in the circumstances:-

hahaha, very appropriate, Jack

Might have one of the cooler days in summer on GC today, also wet. May help us a bit. Interested to see if new game style is evident. Coach says it will be.

Also think Stefan Martin has some real X factor, even though the conditions certainly didn't favour him tonight.

Le Beau Cheval 3rd at 56 to 1, better run, but he looks limited to me.

Just won his first at canberra today at 20 to 1. Has improved 2 starts since gelding.

He just needs some time.

His agility for a big man leaves him sooooo close to being able to stooge defenders like a Buddy Franklin would, but he is just not quite there yet.

He nearly dodged Adcock last night ,which is ridiculous given his size . I think he will have a VERY good year .

think your right looked good happy.gifhappy.gifhappy.gif

The question is - what happens to all your "Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image" thing-a-me-bobs when we log on ?

They mysteriously disappear (slowly)

Nineteen. But don't let on to the Biffenator. He's a big Sepoy fan. Apparently according to Biffen, Black Caviar has been avoiding Sepoy. If you want to talk racing or BC - there is a Black Caviar thread in Sports. Redleg, you might want to add some input on BC.

Didn't actually say that HT .Do bookies pay you to tout things this far in the red or are you just a safety officer ? Fact is they wont race each other .

Biff, refer you to your own posts on " Black Caviar " thread on "Other Sports "

#14 : Black Caviar is dodging decent opposition "

#17 : " Sepoy and her [sic] are dodging each other "

#19 : " Moody places her in fields where Sepoy isn't "

#24 : " Just a point of fact mate . They are avoiding each other for now "

BTW , Sepoy [ who is a fine, fine horse ] really carved them up in the Oakleigh Plate yesterday.

Well beaten by several mollydee. Good research too on the Biffenator.

He's probably right about them not racing one another. Sepoy will have to step up to face the BC. Oakleigh Plate form suggests there's better opposition anyway after having the sit of the race.

A considered comment for discussion - by Round 12 we might have 2 wins.

I thought it was a poor ride for a horse with a lot of weight.

Apologies guys, I arrived in Brisbane just as the rain hit up there and returned to Melbourne as the storms hit last night, I think it's following me again.

The fact is that Sepoy is 3 ,already carrying top weight in Group1's .and is yet to peak . He didn't really have a chance to sit ,and the speed came from the back .You go and put all your money on BC then .Your favourite mare is a great sprinter .Tip me something less obvious to win and we'll see .You think Sepoys run was that bad-you know nothing about racing then .

HT -they still haven't raced each other have they? Fact.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
