I fear my esteemed upper class mate Earl Hood may not being enjoying his free trade non genetic modified latte this morning. I have noted, sadly, that his name does not seem to appear as a gongee on list printed on this day of celebration in honour of our esteemed monarch's nativity.

His selfless work in dealing with the eerr .... dregs of our community is again unrewarded and unrecognized.

Only problem Biff is I am here in Melbourne.

Redleg is the man there at present.

In Miami tomorrow, anyone want any salsa.

By the way did I get a gong for my untiring support of the MFC?

Sadly not RL.

You were hardly mentioned at last night's weekly Sunday dinner, the main topic of conversation being Juddy's knee, the undesirablilty of coriander in oriental dishes and the poor service.

sadly not redleg, apparently your association with certain landed gentry from the romsey region, and shady characters from a certain disreputable establishment in st. kilda seems to have counted against you this time

Partying with the beautiful people in South Beach, Red? As for the award, if they awarded it for that, the honour wouldn't be so exclusive.

Gongs are awarded to recognise far less significant efforts.

Unfortunately the only reward for "untiring MFC support" is the inner feeling of peace and tranquility in knowing that you can overcome the deepest extremes of all emotions to triumph and place the rest of the tawdry circumstances in life into their shallow perspectives.

Expect same to continue today.

Bad day at the footy.

Uncle bitters was socialising with the Ox, Rivers, jnr, Tappy etc and kept quietly missing his shout as he warms his nest egg.

Maple stole my lunch and left .

Collingwood won.

It's a cruel world.

Apart from the result, I had a good day at the footy. Joined the march to the G at the last minute, managed to get close to Neale, the PM and Gill (didn't realise the dill was so tall), as well as Eddie, Neale and Bill Shorten. Even managed a quick word with Neale and gave him a pat on the back. Then saw some play from the Dees that I haven't seen for some time -- dash, pace and skill. There were the usual clangers, and the margin was pretty much Cloke and the maggots, but finally some spirited footy --- just not enough of it.

Call me a glass-half full dreamer (OD, your cue :)), but there it is.

Strange MFC supporters.

We now enjoy losing.

Anything less than a belting is considered joyful.

Come on, OD, you know better than that. Would I a prefer a full glass? Of course. Do I like the fact that we lost? No. Can I change anything about it? No. Can I do anything other than yell from the sidelines? No.

So I can either say "#^R$#$!!! We lost again!" (plenty of threads for that ), or say "Hmm.. what we the good things about today?". I'll take the latter any time.

Oh come on R and B you were baiting me.

I said elsewhere it was funny leaving the ground as I was smiling that we did not get belted.

Thought you would be proud of my skills, Biffen. Besides, I was just trying to encourage you to make healthier choices.

Are you happy about anything Old Dee?

Oh, and being MFC supporters makes us all a little strange by definition.

Would I do that? I didn't see your other post, as I tend not to read every thread in detail after we lose. FWIW I share your sentiment.

My god we both need to get more in lives on here 7.24 am Tuesday.

Every thing except the MFC.

It gives me grief year in year out.

The really sad bit is I am too stupid to leave.

What can I say OD?

The MFC team still sucks.

To me it all about results which we see do little of these days.

But the MFC has moved from be the worst team in the league to the second or third worst.

That is an improvement!

Plus we could have all been Carlton Supporters, those guys will be having some long term pain.

So things are not all bad.

Doesn't seem to have affected other winners.

Nothing a few consecutive wins wouldn't fix ... :blink::blink:

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
