Sorry Bossdog I just blew it I had to make a comment on the Media

Some days I am just bloody hopeless!

Anyone notice the latest NBL news.

Melbourne Tigers are no more!

The owners are changing their name and colours to "Melbourne United"

First it sounds like a soccer team and what happens to the people who have invested 30 years of theirs lives in The Tigers?

Now I understand that Basketball and in this case the Tigers are struggling to survive but I for one will end my membership of the Tigers and I will be lost to the NBL.

I would be the same if the Demons went the way of Fitzroy.

For me the NBL is "The Tigers in Yellow and Black" nothing more nothing less.

I guess the upside is the MFC becomes more important and I will have more dollars to spend at the G.

And so we bid a sad farewell to the frog.

he is taking a rest for the time being,he needs to have a pond replenishment i think.

truth is he didnt want to hang around old dee and a few other silly geriatric buggers{yes you DC}

Maybe that is what scared him Bitter. That, or he is off to the local shuffleboard tournament.

Well I'm not sure you can call DC geriatric Jazza. However, let's just say that some of his blue rinse conquests, err ... special friends, may fall into that category.

Don't know. I'll wait for Loonshadow's view and that will put me to sleep.

ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz.........zzzzzzzz.....zzzzzzzzzzz........

Wake me when you say something worth reading Bitty....

Are you fair dinkum Jazza? How long? Is it forever?

I'm beginning to ignore the double brazillian after that news. I'll even start to read Moonie's posts if you can offer me a long term break from fl ogger.

Jeezus, you have a heart overhaul (I heard they had to search for quite some time) and you're posting whilst getting a Brazilian and in the recovery room and you think Toady needs to take a break! Take a look in the mirror, if it hasn't cracked.

I feel the same, OD. I was never a member, but a keen supporter back in the heady days of Gaze and Copeland. Now it seems it is another corporate sellout, creating yet another artificial team which will probably lose support. Then to hear Chris Anstey, of all people, talking about cutting off basketball families from the professional level because they couldn't stand the Tigers, .... well, you just lost this supporter!

Half your luck, Redleg! Enjoy ...

he sent me a PM and it went along the lines of redleg and i being the only people that made sense and maybe he should find a site with younger posters.

personally i think he is worried about coming to victoria to see a live game.well not the game but the after game drinks.

he thought biff and BBO would take him to the gat and that would end his marriage and all brain cells he had left.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.
