To some it might be Redleg. But I can understand the confusion of many. The final outcome from the governing body (The AFL) is that we didn't tank and didn't go out to deliberately lose games having considered all the evidence, and I can live with that . But the $500K (third largest AFL fine handed out) and the suspensions of key coaching/managerial staff is damning.

The information from the regular meeting in the vault should never have come to light. That's where the blame should lie in all this.

Four people came forward, and informant among the club allegedly supplied information to Caroline Wilson. Then there was Brock McLean. Our club has had backstabbing snitches with gripes. These people would rather battle for power or bring someone down than see this club prosper in pursuit of a flag. It's virtually unheard of at other powerful AFL clubs.

These are the people who should be in the spotlight. These are the people who are holding this club back now. The Board have been cleared, the CEO was exonerated after all the collated evidence. These people I speak of have Connolly and Bailey's blood on their hands, not to mention a $500K noose around the clubs neck.

Spot on H_T

There is a ways to go in this farce.

Until we rid ourselves of the enemy within we are going nowhere fast.

What happens if these same people ring the gaming commission?

Given we have been cleared of match fixing there should not be much to fear from the Gaming Commission. The AFL QC said there was nothing to support it in the report. So did ours. No one who works in that area in the club has been cited.

Decided last night that it is time to move on dc.

what is done is done there is bugger all I can do about any of it.

why belong to something that only gives you grief .

So lets get on with season 2013 and hope for some joy from the MFC.

Surely it has to be better than 2012 doesnt it?

I have zero confidence for tomorrow night but hell it has to be better than the last 12 months.

dead right bossdog

do you think it is normal for him to take 5 minutes and continuously grinning?

might give the ama a ring

Id have thought giving your doc your "ring" would be enough

Wouldnt involve an acronym or you could end up with an 800 page report 18 months of inuendo before being found not guilty but having to outlay $500K

good point re ama dpositive :)

best to keep my bile for afl and kero, that way my integrity will stay intact

I am actually expecting us to lose both games tomorrow, but just hope we can show something in game style and endeavour and some hope from the new squad. Although he is only young, I am really looking forward to seeing Hogan.

Do you consider that one or more of the four informants also supplied information to Caroline Wilson?

Perhaps that one of those who you describe as "backstabbers" might have encouraged the informants to come forward?

I think there has to be something about this club that sets it apart from several others who should be investigated for tanking/list management/acting against the interests of the AFL or whatever. I think there are some uber rats around the place and that's what might answer the question.

Given your earlier appointment DC, I'd be worried about things other than my integrity remaining intact.

its true bbo.....i shredded his pillow to pieces.....that'll show the bastard

I once had a nightmare about one of "those" examinations. I visualised the doctor entering the room and all I could see were his mits - they were the size of Christmas hams. Traumatic.

Must have known you were mfc.

Once people know-they want to get right up in there.

Remember the old schoolyard joke? " Wouldn't know if a tram was up (insert gender distinguishing pronoun) until the conductor rang the bell".

That is a very old one

90% of people on here would not know what a conductor was

You are dating yourself Bbo

In Mykonos they substitute tram for Donkey .

I didn't know you went to a catholic school BBO?

BTW ,I applied for the job in Rome because I thought the town had three things going for it.

1. All roads lead there.(great for traffic)

2.It wasn't built in a day (unlike Beijing)

3. When there ,you have to do what they do (which is not very much).

Put in my application ,just waiting for the puffs of smoke from the blokes in frocks.

Well no one else will date me!!

Should have seen that coming.

My excuse

I am a little tired after a tough day and a very ordinary Tuesday and Wednesda.

But e are going to win tomorrow so the weekend is looking up

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
