Bit unfair. Before Johncock got injured they were 6 goals up and he was their best player. Then they lost another player and played 1 short. You can't win playing short these days.

yeah i wasnt watching the game...

Looks like the anti-Scully thread has sprung a leak - the skipper appears to have put an axe through the hull.

I have the diver down there doing repairs. The thread is still ship shape though.

It's very tough to resist the Siren's Scully call and not steer the ship to the rocks.

Redouble the crews bees wax and have them tighten those knots.

THE AFL will press ahead with plans to set up its own player agent system, despite admitting it will be a conflict of interest.

The AFL wants to establish a separate body to act on behalf of young players before they are drafted and can be approached by accredited agents.

The move is likely to set the league on a collision course with the current player agents.

AFL boss Andrew Demetriou said there would be no issue with the league managing young players and trying to develop the game at the same time, even if there was some conflict.

"Of course it's a conflict but I think people have got to be aware that there are legitimate times where conflicts of interest can occur, as long as they're managed properly, in accordance with good corporate governance," Demetriou said

In other words Demetriou is saying "who cares, it's our competition, we'll see to it to do things the way we want it to be done to achieve a competitive competition.

We'll nurture the right talent with our own internal player managers and therefore ensure that new clubs succeed where applicable to ensure maximum tv rights, more money and a stronger competition against rival codes. Therefore ensure superiority of sport in Australia.

But don't worry about the established clubs, they'll survive. They'll just have to be more prudent in their recruiting and spending now that we've made this decision"

How is that for transparency, ok ?

Strangely Vlads running with the notion that it's not just a case of it not being a conflict but that's it's actually IN the interest of the AFL and therefore all concerned ( after all Vlad knows best )

All hale Vlad , Vlad is good (god?)

Big Brother-Vlad-Big Brother -Vlad , just can't tell them apart

I think the Fat Controller has finally gone too far here.....his Dynasty is now somewhat transparent.....I certainly hope the Players stand up and totally disregard this absurd idea.

One mighty stoush is looming !!!!

Good....i think the AFLPA are taking such a long time because they are aware of all these "Vlad Speak" changes....i shudder to think that the AFL will control all the young talent on so many levels.

"No one believes more firmly than Comrade Vladimir that all players are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?"

This is NOT about a Junior Clubman who may become a Superstar - I'll call him Brian

Jounalist: Hail Messiah!

BRIAN: I'm not the Messiah!

Jounalist: I say You are, Lord, and I should know. I've followed a few.

Everyone else: Hail Messiah!

BRIAN: I'm not the Messiah! Will you please listen? I am not the Messiah, do you understand?! Honestly!

Football Commentator: Only the true Messiah denies His divinity.

BRIAN: What?! Well, what sort of chance does that give me? All right! I am the Messiah!

Can you believe it, that other bloody thread is up to nearly 900 posts, the 3rd time around. Full of conjecture and speculation with one poster nearly at 100 posts. I can see a total meltdown of the board when the decision is announced.

For those with other interests, Melbourne may give up the Grand Prix and Cadel Evans is set for the ride of his life. Go Aussie, win the bloody thing.

with one poster nearly at 100 posts.

That would be me.... just to say I'm watching you blokes .... hehehehe

Welcome to this thread. Feel free to post here 100 times but try and change the topics.

PS. Obviously no one on the other thread has seen the Age article today on you know who's knee.

Can someone tell me step by step how you link an article.

When you're on the page you would like to link (in this case, the article) click the address bar so that the website name goes blue.

Hold down control and press C (which copies the text) or alternatively you can click edit up the top of the page and select copy.

In a post on D'Land, click the button next to the smiley face that says insert link (it looks like a chain with a plus?).

Where it says URL, hold control and press v (which pastes what you've already copied) or alternatively click the right mouse button and select paste. You can also go into edit up the top and click paste.

Link text means whatever you write will be what appears in your post for people to click on. In this case, Tom Scully's knee.

Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read.
