Play the kids and see if some enthusiasm can bring a few wins, or likely the season is done.

After last weeks game if we don't play Fullerton then why the hell is he on the list? Billings is NQR, Laurie is not an AFL level talent, and Chandler is seriously out of form. When you add that we are playing two backman in Turner and Petty as forwards it is not hard to see why we are having problems. Howes is a fill in player who without Lever  looks all at sea. Surely there is the opportunity to add a couple of first gamers next week how could they possible contribute less than Howes, Laurie or Chandler?

@old dee, @Redleg; you are vertebrae* in this thread! How could you inject the slipped discs of actual football talk into it - and with nerve pinching negativity at that!

Back to inanity, gentlemen, please!

Well your request is my task.

Why do some people call it jam, while others call it conserve, not to mention the Yanks calling it jelly?

This thread is like 'barley', or parliament with its privilege, isn't it, layze; you can safely say stuff that would elsewhere be roundly slinged and arrowed! 😄

That's because we operate under a banner of truth and tackling the hard stuff others won't.

No one cares what Yanks think.....other than Yanks of course....

They've bastardised the language and therefore forfeited any relevance.

As in..Tonite I'm thru with donuts.

That said at least there are those around who sorely test the limits of Darwinism that'll probably dial 911 thereby doing us all a favoUr ;)

Our old english teacher stopped us using Americanisms by telling us that they turned one gay.  One went into the cupboard but came out of the closet.

Met a bunch of Dees fans last night and they were as feral about the Coach, as Uncle Bitters is when he gets down to the last few swigs from the wine cask.

Basically want him gone and blame him for all our ills.

I have a headache atm and they have got me wondering if it is Goody's fault.

Love the fact we are now playing the younger guys and improving our depth.

Don't know how we can win friday, but if we somehow could, it would turn our season completely around.

Naming storms and the like after people always seems a little odd to me.

Do we do it for earthquakes or wars?

Even stranger is people who discover diseases and then name it after themselves. What a nice way to be remembered.

Munchausen: "This condition is one where the sufferer compulsively invents medical conditions in order to gain attention."

The Symposium Attendees: "Yes, we see that."

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

The Demons almost blew a six goal lead and ultimately hung on to win by three points over the North Melbourne Kangaroos at the MCG and have temporarily jumped back into the Top 8.

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
