Can you actually “overindulge “?

We need to take the AFL to task for fixturing us in WA and 6 days later in Adelaide and then 5 days after Anzac day playing again all within first 7 rounds. Pretty rough. I didn’t mention Geelong again, like every other year, either.

Go back and read BBO’s earlier posts and you will work it out very easily. The responses give it away.

Awww, I’ve still got your back and always will. 🥰

Anyways, what’s wrong with being a nut-job? Or is it the combination of nut-job and redhead? Asking for a redheaded nut-job of a friend.

Fremantle also travelled to Adelaide twice 2 weeks (also off a 6 day break). We should not be using this an excuse for losing to Essendon.

Just for the record, Fremantle spent the week in Adelaide but I agree travel isn't an excuse.  The club chose to catch the red eye back from Perth, apparently at the players' request.  Maybe next time they rethink that.

Goody’s comments suggest they will rethink it, if it happens again.

I'm surprised the sports science staff thought it was a good idea to catch the red eye knowing there was a flight/game to Adelaide a few days later.  Sometimes they and coaches should do what is best for the club rather than the players.

While acknowledging players want to get home to families etc I doubt half a day makes a lot of difference in most cases.

Its the Footy season... All decisions and focus ought to be about the game/team.

Melb Perth Melb Ade Melb !!

Not a lot of genius happening there.

Should  not even be a consideration.

We're not there yet when we can't think like a 100% professional outfit.

At first I thought getting back here was the only way to go but Binman made a good case for this idea on the pod last night. It's the 1%ers

Common sense I would have thought.

At the risk of a pile on I don't listen to the game related podcasts.

With 6 days it probably was.

Nothing wrong with that, we choose what we like for our personal enjoyment.

Life is full of entrees so don't fill up on bread! 🙂

Exactly, it's the 1%ers.  This is something that led to our success in 2021 - I'm listening to a podcast interview with Clayton Oliver back in Dec 2021 right now while working.  Clarry said "I didn't change much, my three big rocks after discussing with Goodwin was to train well, sleep well and eat well.  That's all I've focused on this year"

Tell your friend it happens all the time, Daise. Just recently I was walking into Snorbz Woolies at the same time an undesirable was leaving. Right there on the threshold he says, “wanna buy Gillette razor blades?” I said, “No thanks, but dude, what are you doing? At least walk out of the shop and around the corner or something.” He said, “nah, this way I hit up people who haven’t spent their money yet.” Makes a heap of sense to me.

LOL I said to the Woolies girl at the self-serve, “Wow. Did you just see that?” She said, “That’s nothing. He asked ME if I was interested in buying it. 😳

reminds me of a story from years ago

a friend of my son was working casual at myers during xmas break.  he observed this guy come in and pocket a relatively small but expensive item. he then proceded to the closest checkout counter and tried to return it for a refund. (myers had a very liberal return policy in those days)

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
