You clearly haven’t seen our Demon Army ponchos. They may not be fashionable or flattering, but they’d withstand any amount of any animal pee. After all, they keep us dry and warm at Casey.

But would they have been up to Victoria Park* or Windy Hill*?...

(*I'm only going by what others fondly remember)

Well I think I am outvoted, so everyone please indulge in gratuitous flattery, you wonderful, beautiful people.

Your gracious acceptance of the limitations of this social context has only reaffirmed your dignity and stature as a leader.

Ah, monseir Daisycutter, surely one more little compliment cannot hurt?

We all know that this flattery is wafer thin.

Weather-wise, yes. But in every other respect probs wouldn’t last a day at Windy Hill. As awesome as our ponchos are, they’re not feral-proof enough to endure that. No, that’d be a job for a hazmat suit.

Edit: have I told you how much I despise Essendon? I hate that club with every fibre of my being. I wouldn’t subject my beautiful poncho to the filthy air that stills hangs over that entire suburb.

Reminds me of that book “ The Art of Prevaracation”, which I just can’t decide whether or not to read.

Now this is what I mean my learned colleague. Far too polite and evidence supports the contention.

You would have loved the Dons fan I was speaking with on Monday, he was really pumped about Weid and how a second chance is all he needs.

He may be right but still, sheesh.

I was with about 6 of them on Monday watching the Super Bowl at Sporting Globe. All so miserable about the bummers!

I got a lovely Valentine's Day note from my dearly beloved which went something along the lines of

" Roses are red and chocolates are brown, but you're getting neither so calm the F ..... down ! "

I think you can be polite and combative at the same time.

Ever heard the phrase “ smiling assassin “?

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
