It was probably because he got a close up look of him bending his Back whilst Chucking.

I think the whole thing was just another Djockovic type excuse.

Dan's bought out the best Liquor outlet in Adelaide, Bailly and Bailyy's, then used their House Brand and marketed it throughout Australia and , yes, it's Riverland material, the stuff once used in casks.

By the way, I watched the second half of the 2015 Anzac Day Richmond game: was that you exposing your half naked torso during the last quarter? If it is/was, I'd go on a diet - eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we diet - and no, my name is not a version of someone who diets, nor is my name or torso skinny.

My apologies for the delayed reply skinny but i had some pressing matters at The Manor that required my attention.

The accusation re the fat gutted fellow has been levelled at me before. I wish to lay it to rest. It was not my good self. I must say that while I admired the fellows's healthy physique his taste in attire was appalling. I am offended that anyone would think that I would dress in such a bumpkinish manner.

Re the non de plume that I have stuck you with. We had this conversation some years ago and I know your name has nothing to do with Jenny Craig. However, as I am a rude and churlish fellow, I have chosen not to change my manner of address.

I must (for once) share a true story.

I was slumming it in Lancefield yesterday. And, while enjoying an al fresco coffee , I watched this old lady trudging along behind her walker toward me.

I gave her a friendly greeting and she commented on my Demons polo. She told me that Ron Barrassi was her hero and , she pointed to her cheek, and said she got a kiss from Ron when she was a youngster. She said she didn't wash that spot for weeks!

She was a lovely old dear. A bit dotty and I guessed well into her 80's . She was heading to the local clinic which was nearly 2 Klm's from where she lived !

What a tough old bugger! Soft [censored] today call for the paramedics when they sneeze.

Where did you go on your date with her?

Didn't know they served 'an al' fresco coffee in Lancefield. Enemas???

Lancefield people are true warriors. They look up to the highlands to their immediate west and walk and shuffle and say there but for the graces of the many gods who live here go I: at least it's flat. I know about Lancefield and Romsey people because I attended a Salesian College not far away. I am proud to say I remained a virgin until I was sixteen and it involved a member of the opposite sex in her father's flat in East Brunswick.

Re this thread: to (slightly mis-)quote the Good Doctor Seuss, "Oh, the places we go!"

Clearly endlessly, always reliably, and occasionally surprisingly, good fun. No need to name names; I'm sure its regular inhabitants will see this appreciation.

You… uhm… didn’t think to… you know…offer the old dear a lift to the clinic? But then again, no; god forbid you should rush your coffee down. 🥴😁🙃

I’m quite sure she would’ve declined anyway. No doubt (like all females from a very young age) she had been warned against getting into a car with a strange man.

watching the cricket now. England have got one of their Sheilas opening for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weak bastards !

England WISH they had their “Sheilas” opening for them. Their girls would likely score more than their men. Having said that, these two have put on 60 without loss, so we may be in for a competitive match for a change.

Sort of, OD. I mean, it still doesn’t make much sense, but it’s highly entertaining nonetheless.

Nothing a re-tread can’t fix. We don’t want it to end up in landfill. 🙃

I think you have stumbled on the governments method of operations.

Just as AFL has taken footy from sport to entertainment , incompetent nonentities are moving the necessary actions of government into the realms of playing politics.  People slowly switching off.

Just as the price of bananas has been removed from conciousness so to will Novak now join the ranks of the Biloela two or the unnumbered refugees.

Don't expect any rational or meaningful debate, but it will be entertaining.

Could we start a price comparison with banana price and petrol?

Then again it's all pretty irrelevant now that we are the reigning premiers.

I trust we can maintain the entertainment provided by all our characters and continue winnng in appropriately artistic fashion

I sorta lost track of what you were saying so I guess that means I do understand this thread. Or not. Yeah, probably not.

There is your main mistake it’s not meant to make sense. It has a life all of its own.

  • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

  • PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
