Thanks Bitter.

i shall do my best to contribute but fear my sporadic attendance usually results in post hoc thought usually trumped by the more astute observer.

However given the new levels of trumping achieved by POTUS perhaps there is hope for me.

I have a long standing relationship with lawyers from previous matters considers by the authorities to be less than beneficial to society.

Having studied and worked in Industrial relations I have tried to redress that balance.

Of course all activities have been parallel to my support for the demons so there may be some strange relationship that recognises Newtons immutable 4 th law

I'm sure a few of us have appeared before the Family Law Court !

Lionel Murphey is a [censored] !

Not sure that jurisdiction considers matters "less than beneficial to society"

Not sure that's an adequate description of "Murphey"

So MR BEECHWORTH does that make you a supporter of Mrs Mirrabella's recent $175,000 payout and yet to be determined legal costs ?

one for bbo

quoted by chris scott "we'll certainly be whacking ourselves after that one, you can be sure of that"

Not sure where this is leading. I am definitely not a supporter of Mirabella and her behaviour was abominable. However the law appeared sound when McGowan said in court she was not pushed as reported.

i don't think she had a reputation to lose and would not have supported such a payout.

As they say, "the only winners are the lawyers" and this would appear to be the case again.

Thinking the same thing, must have wandered onto this thread by mistake.

Is he trying to kill off this thread after all?

Although he does tend to play the Bud Abbott to all the eccentrics who visit this place.

Also appears to be a bit of a chameleon at times, which tends to be a characteristic of those in his profession.

So lets not take him seriously. His sense of humour is very very dry.

Your right  could not be any footy club I know.  3Rd bottom now that would be normal.          Well it was

Black cats? Ladders? Third? Perhaps Blackadder the Third? Now that was seriously funny all season, and definitely won the premiership!

Perhaps we should be aiming higher.

The cost of living index indicates that for the average daily intake requirement bananas are $0 .76 topped by oranges  $1.76 apples $1.22 tomatoes $1.02 .

of course beef $2.31and chicken $1.53  are leading

The humble potato is $0.60

The cost of bananas per kilo is now still trending up at $1.50

having soared in Feb To $1.62

Perhaps we should position ourselves as the red and blue meat team.

Hmmm perhaps some very astute placement on Master chef.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
