Strange day for footy...

Pike retires from the Swans a year before his contract is out and then takes up the senior coaching gig at the Crows. They transition fast these days.

Saturday 45

The Colt 45 was a hand gun, popular in the wild west. A colt, this time a horse, owned by friends of mine, won its Group 1 last start and runs in the Toorak handicap today, another group 1. Its name is Stratum Star.

Finished 3rd and paid $2.80 for the place.

When does it run next Redleg?

Help this is surely domestic violence, I have contacted Lifeline but they are not interested. I come home after a hard day on the course expecting dinner and what do I get? Well yes dinner was very edible but SWMBO had set up multiple streaming devices of the Hawthorn Best and Fairest Count that is happening tonight! Our smart television, her laptop and iPad all streaming Clarko's eulogy to a threepeat that had me puking when he mentioned the efforts of Neita, Bruce and Yze! There was no where to hide in our modest, yet tasteful apartment.

This is spouse abuse surely? At last count Gibbo has been overtaken by Cyril in the B&F as if anyone wanted to know.

This is all payback for my refusing to pay $200 to accompany SWMBO to the GF to watch another one sided flogging.

I'm sure there is a lawyer in the house here who can help you out in a divorce Earl. Demonland's own Danny Divuto, so to speak.

Gibbo has won the B&F for your info. You know the roving third man up in the back Iine that has had zilch pressure on it all year. And now I have to hear that they are giving all the accolades to Yze, the backline mastermind! Sorry I am going to puke again.

Here's an idea, how about you just don't post about me anymore? Your obsession is incredibly lame, especially given this is a footy website and all you seem to comment on is other people you've never met. Maybe try talking about actual footy? The things that were said to me were actually horrible and weren't the first time this anonymous internet poster has personally harassed me.

I understand maybe you get your jollys out of trying to bully people on the internet and continually having personal cracks at them, but I'm actually a real person and I get really really sick of it.

Feel free to post your usual tough internet replies, but as I said to BBO in a message to him after he had sent me continuing personal attacks, maybe have a think about who you are in real life and why you feel the need to act like this on the internet.

If you were a saint and didn't belittle others regularly on Dland then your comments might hold water Stuie. They don't.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
