Goal to "Pickles" Evans.

Casey by 20 points.

Thanks very much for the updates KC. A lot of us footy-starved readers are following your posts.

Three Quarter Time

Casey Scorpions 5.7.37

Box Hill Hawks 2.6.18

Greater desperation from the visitors but a late goal steadied the Scorpions. With the rain easing it's game on.

Goals Bate 2 Dunn, Evans, McGough

A great last quarter in the rain for Casey who run out winners by 43 points to get themselves back in the race for a top four placing.

Tom McNamara revelled in the conditions and had a fantastic game in the wet and the wind with 31 disposals. Max Gawn displayed great agility for a big man and he had an outstanding game in the ruck. Matthew Bate was in good touch and Luke Tapscott was strong and tough. Both had 22 touches.

Thanks KC. Your work is much appreciated.

Bater looks to be pressing for elevation based on recent form in the Scorps. Makes things difficult for selectors but a nice problem to have.

Bull to return in Darwin possibly? Ooh...

Just keep him away from the docks where they're loading up all the other live cattle...

Reckon Mohr is a fair chance to get picked up by someone next year?

Tall defender, 195cm 98kg, only turns 23 in October. Someone like Richmond wouldn't be hurt by taking a punt on him. eels

Seems to be mentioned in the bests a lot.

One of the prominent melbourne clubs had a recruiting scout at one of caseys recent home games whose sole job it was to monitor mohr, so yes it's fair to say hes on recruiters radars

With Mohr its all about disposal from what I've seen of him. Big enough, super quick and likes to run with the footy, the question is do you back your coaches and him to work together to get those skills up.

I watched the games down at Casey (and froze my nuts off) and thought some of the Dees were okay.

Some quick observations:

Maric - Too good to be playing at this level. He is very good at ground level and was a cut above in the wet.

Bate - He looks quick at this level. Will no doubt have some trade interest as he is good enough to play AFL.

Dunn - Did some nice things, and reminded me that when he is going he is good, but when he is quiet he is invisible.

Tappy- Has to be one of the biggest built guys going around. Looked a god among men out there. Got though without any hiccups and could be back in red and blue soon. Hammy seems to be good as he did drive a few long kicks out of defense. He looked good.

Gawn - He is developing into quite a footballer. Can see him pushing for genuine selection next season barring any setbacks. He was a monster in the ruck, and is clean by foot for a big guy. Very excited by Max Gawn.

Bartram - Pretty much what you would expect from Barty. Contest, run into space and tackle. Over and over again without fail.

Blease - Did some nice things, got some footy but didn't wow me in the wet. Won't be selected on that performance.

Cook - One of those "coming soon" attractions. Ran into space, kicked a goal and looked like he belonged. Will still require some more time to develop.

Warnock - Rock solid in defense. Can spoil and mark. Still question marks over ability to move the ball on and switch play cleanly.

McNamara - Didn't think he had a future ... he was one of our best today. Would like to see how he could go with a quicker tempo game, but in a wet slow game he was strong, clean and just about everywhere the footy was.

Evans - Works hard, and is a smart footballer. Sometimes his disposal undoes his hard work. (it was wet though!)

Bennell - Should have dominated ... didn't. Rate him as a footballer, but there is something missing with Jamie.

Davis - Did some nice things, but needs some serious time at Casey.

Campbell - Was solid, would like to see how he goes in the Casey ones.

That's about it. Kitchin Monkhorst was good for the Hawks. Not sure why he isn't on an AFL list be he certainly has something about him. Son of Damien Monkhorst so he has some height to him.

Same IQ as his old man?

Did Tom McDonald play?

Blease?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
