Since the age of 5, I have barracked for the Melbourne Football Club

Most people barrack for a team because one or other of their parents barrack for that team

This ,is not so in my case

My Father is a Geelong Supporter, My mother was Essendon, my little mate next door though barracked for Melbourne yet

he himself was related to a very well known Carlton Footballer, funny about that.

Anyway I digress

At the age of 5 it was great to be able to annoy both my mum and dad with regards to football because at that time Melbourne was one of the dominant teams in the VFL and I used to laugh at their teams when the oppurtunity presented itself.

But to be honest I didnt Follow Melbourne all that closely then, but it stuck and I have followed Melbourne through thick and thin ever since

I have shed quite a few tears over the years some in Joy but most in despair. I have seen Melbourne only ever win one Grand Final and I was there on that night even though it was only a Preseason comp. The feeling of elation that night was something I will never forget

I have seen Melbourne play in other Finals and a Grand Final but only to see them fall short each time.

My passion for the team though continues and I like every other Supporter want to see the MFC succeed

Though I may have differing opinions, even with my own children who are all Melbourne Supporters, like them I want what is only best for the club

My problem is I do not have the willingness that I did years ago to be patient and wait for that success to come.

I have seen Coaches come and go from the Melbourne FC and I have had varying opinions on all of them and still do.

Especially regarding our current coach, just ask my kids

However I believe everyone here is just that RED & BLUE right through and us such are entitled to their opinion even if it differs from mine

Though we all have differing opinion we all want to share how we feel on this forum about our team .

In saying that we all have a right to do so or this forum may as well not exist.

Whether you agree with someone elses opinion or not, you have a right to your opinion. But you also need to respect theirs. Thats why I come here to post ,

Most of the time I enjoy reading how everyone else feels whether they agree or disagree, the point is we are all DEMON Supporters

I think some need to keep that in mind when posting.

In passing wouldnt it also be nice if there was a Official representitive of the MFC here on this forum that we could ask questions of after each game and receive some answers on that weeks results be they good or bad .

Instead of having to hear it all the time from Newspapers or those here who claim to be in the Know.

After all my best mate Robbie doesnt even know half the time what is going on.B)

Well said.

Except for the representative idea.

If they were on here every week, they would suddenly become part of the furniture and be treated as such.

Cam Schwab comes on from time to time about specific issues. We all enjoy that.

But we have no right to know the inner weekly workings of the club - negotiations and the like.

Why not? Because this is a public forum and a properly run business requires some privacy.

i'm not sure it was meant as a "inner workings" of the club but rather a basic Q & A after games. i think within reason it is a great idea. possibly we could get the whole forum to draw straws each week to ask 5 or so questions, if they are too close to the bone or give away team plans they don't get answered.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
