Was the Jack Trengove hearing fair?

Featured Replies

I think you'll find it's Tinney's job whether he agrees with what he's saying or not. He's been hired to prosecute for the MRP, not go in and argue for Jack. Give the Tinney bashing a rest.

Adam McNicol: Tinney says medical report showed Dangerfield did suffer severe concussion. The fact he could train today "doesn't in any way change the fact this was a significant injury he sustained."

Dog!

That Tinney bloke is a dog.

Yes and Adam McNicol didn't post comments regarding Tinney - can't imagine why? :(

Fix is in.

AFL is refusing to accept Melbourne's argument that the original hearing was a dodgy hearing with only enough time for the panel to pop into the loo before coming out and toeing Demetriou's line.

This, with moderator's endorsement added on top.

May I say that I get the feeling Tinney and I would not become great friends if we were to ever meet? (Just a feeling I get)

Was the hearing fair? It doesn't appear so. Is the appeal open and accountable? The media have been banned from twittering during the hearing - is the AFL afraid that the public might be disquieted from what is being said? There is no reason that this hearing should be closed in this manner - it is worrying that it is.

Given he was charged on the back of an Adelaide medical report I would think an updated report that downgrades the severity of the concussion (i.e. Dangerfield is now ok to play this weekend), should help.

Yeah... he kind of makes me want to punch him in the back of the head, whilst he's sipping some coffee

get wikileaks on-board this stinks

wow i think we are wasting our time here the afl has never admitted or never will admit that they got something wrong

Hello Adam. Does Tinney have any friends? Was he picked on as a child?

Adam wont answer my question.

Based on what I've been reading I think we're sunk. Hasn't introduced any startling new evidence or clearly shown where the original tribunal verdict was incorrect. Think it's going to stand.

Adam McNicol: Tony, the tackling player has to take care so that he does not put his opponent's head into the ground and cause him an injury.

Can u believe this shisen?

And some of the knuckle draggers that came up with this have actually played footy!

Yep that's the AFL dictatorship for you

wont take 4 minutes this time gauranteed there in there talking about there plans 4 the weekend to drag it out

Only about 800m from Etihad right now.. and wearing a Demons jacket. So, so tempted to wander on down and glare at people exiting the media centre.

could adelaide's dubious role in this have something to do with the departure of Todd Viney and the commitment to Jack Viney?????

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
