Look, i know most of you,like me, go to the foosball every week. Now how many of you scream "move" or "lead""? Why is it that we cannot find space? And whats the deal with out kick ins? They constantly kick it to the wing, fail epically, and continue to do it. Really i know its part of the game plan but come on, realise that its failing and try something else.......RANT OVER.

Simple answer a lot of young guys and a few i feel aren't reading thee play. Some just don't like working to hard.

Beamer is one who 'gut' runs more than anyone in our side and would love a few senior guys to follow.

people are running, i think we have one of the fittest squads, the only problem especially with kick outs is the zones make it look as though they are all standing still, but there is lots of unrewarded running going on, watch jack watts and you will see it

Nasher, the title indicates that i dont think they do gut run and the first post explains a few examples.

I agree with the some dont like working too hard, Sylvia comes to mind.

I know a lot of the time, Mad_Melbourne, they don't get rewarded for hard leading, but maybe thats because it's always a 1 on 1. It's very rare that we have a string of players on their own, you might get two or three coming out of defence but then the play breaks down on CHF or in the middle (when we go there these days).

We're pretty stagnant much of the time, yes - even up forward.

At least when Green is in the forward 50 you'll see one decent lead.

It seems to me that when the team has been starting to show fatigue this year you can rely on Sylvia to run that bit harder to make a contest and set an example.

I think you are being hard on him because of his first 4 or 5 years of injuries & general misbehaviour. He has clearly matured these last couple of years and is a valuable on-field leader now. He works as hard as anyone.

That being said, we still seem to have too many players that look around expecting someone else to put in the gut running. Our younger players who have been in the team 2-3 years seem to be made of sterner stuff, but I still wish we could get more out of our middle-aged players (22-27).

Are we really that fit? During second halves we seem to stop running, spreading, leading and generally working hard too easily. I hope that as the season goes on we will see more sustained efforts from the team. We have a soft draw the first two months, and we will need to lift our game if we don't want to drop down the ladder rapidly.
