Mark Jamar's 100th game

Never thought he'd make it this far but I'm more than happy to have been proved wrong. I think every player should look back to the after game interview with him in Darwin last year, and if they feel like wilting on the weekend just dig a little deeper because that is what he'd do for them.

the first 50: just awful

second 50: pretty, pretty, pretty good

Yes the Darwin I/V and also the Queens Birthday I/V after the draw...The Russian gave his all and more. Well done Big Fella, the Boys should all lift for you (and all of us) Tomorrow night.

Gotta love players who persevere and don't just give up when things get too hard.

Jamar was down and out for many seasons due to a variety of issues, but he stuck by the club the way the club stuck by him and it has paid off. He is now a star ruckman.

I guess some things really are worth waiting for!

good work Rush...... Now go make baby sons :)

I was thinking that it feels like he's been around forever, then when I checked it out, it would seem that he has - this is year number 9 10 on the list. Only Green has been on the list longer.

It's got to have been the slowest buildup of all time but it's definitely been worth the wait. Well done Russian.

Absolutely amazed he isn't at least in the official leadership group. The way he has played the last 18 months he has Captain written all over him! A true "heart and soul" player if ever there was one!

wd Kareem

Yep. Well done to the big Abdul Jamar,,, lets see a big "Sky I-100k", (sky hook) straight down to a running Sylvia. Go Russian!!100... ;)

Good work Big fella, been a couple of big years for him, and hopefully we can get him through a few more........ then put him to stud.

yeah well done big Rush. I dont think any dees fan can not love him for his perseverence and his outstanding performances and leadership in the last year. He is without doubt the most important player in our side and i hate to think what would happen if he wasnt there in every one of our 22 games. Ill never forget some of his great individual performances from 2010- The queens birthday against collingwood where he obliterated Jolly and Fraser and the Port game in Darwin where he was absolutely spent. Lets hope he plays at least another 100 games and then goes and makes babies.

Many of us have been doubters......some very bad calls in there. Good on ya big Ruski for 100 games for the red and blue.

JAMAR - another 2 years?

How much better is Paul Johnson than Mark Jamar?

Jamar not AFL standard

Is Jamar the new Nicho ??

Hahaha!! Hindsight can be so entertaining sometimes....

Whilst I can breath a sigh of relief on my input back in 2008, it's very easy to criticise using hindsight. If you think the first 6 years of his footy career wasn't frustrating for a Melbourne supporter, you'd be lying through your teeth.

We can look back on some of those comments with amusement, some contributions from some respectable posters, but I won't be one of those criticising them for such comments. Because at the time, they were somewhat justified IMO.

I think we would all agree it has been a fantastic and most welcomed improvement from MJ and his footy, highlighted by his AA selection last year. I'm sure everyone would be pleased to see him achieve not only AA, but reaching 100 games and the journey to those 100 games - on the back of competing against the likes of White & Jolly for spots - well done Jamar.

Bloody legend.

Yeah, I had a little chuckle...but I was over it pretty quick.

To be honest I've chuckled more over some of your 'award winning' comments WYL.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
