Hi demonlanders

I understand that there are many who are unable to attend games for a multitude of legitimate reasons, however personally I cannot and do not miss an opportunity to see the dees at the 'G...nothing compares.

So it is with great trepidation that I will be unable to attend most of the 2011 season. Long story short, I'm travelling for the greater part of the next year.

How have 'landers kept in touch with the goings on of the MFC while overseas for long periods of time? Have you managed to watch games, listened to radio...etc

I'd love to hear about peoples experiences.

thanks,

p.s. I'm in New York for most of May and June, does anybody know of a good place to catch the Melbourne games or if it's even possible?

I've lived OS for many years. For everything footy/Demons, the internet is your friend. AFL have streaming outside of Oz, but in my experience, it's not all that reliable, and seems to only be available in some countries. YMMV.

Contact the AFL and ask them how to watch the games overseas. There are a couple of Aussie run pubs in London that have the Grand Final. One is on Tooley Street, Southwark. Otherwise tune into Demonland and Club site. The Club usually has updated scores. A frustrating year in front of you but its good to get it out of the way this year because next year will be a biggie for us and you wouldnt want to miss that.

I've lived in Toronto, Canada for the last 8-9 years and get games televised live each week through TSN. It's not always the Dee's playing, but I probably watched them 4-5 times last year. Another option is this website: http://aus.sierules.com/. You should be able to download the weekends game with 1-2 days of it being played. Also, if you're in Toronto and want to play some footy, get in touch! There's a big league here with 10 teams.

BTW: I've been an international member for the whole time I've been here. Living a long way away doesn't mean you can't support the best club in the world!

I am living in Italy for 12 mths and need a Dees fix everyweek.

You can consider joining up at www.afl.aussiesport.tv this is available to overseas folk. It shows replays etc

For live games I have joined omnisport tv. I have not used this service yet, so Iam unsure of its quality or reliability. It also cost about $60. For this i supposedly can waych any AFL game. Time will tell.

Hope this helps

www.afl.aussiesport.tv is pretty good. They have replays of every game (usually up in a day or so) and include other bits and pieces. I'm in the Virgin Islands and simply can't get anything on TV here (except for the GF).

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
