Jimmy Stynes expecting 40k members

I love this .

With Jim urging the supporters to get on board and hopefully the players showing some dash with strong early wins to back him up anything is possible .

someone asked for a dollar value on what the difference between 33k and 40k members is, they were told about half a million bucks

oh and every MCC member through the gate is worth $13 if anyone is interested in that!

Cool that is good to know....it all helps.

Jeez. Jim looks the best I've seen him in a year in that photo? How is he still going? Wow...

I too am an MCC/MFC full member. $13 every time I go thru the gate. Based on those figures I would contribute around $250 to $300 myself a season to the MFC coffers.

Just to clarify, I took it to be that the $500K was in extra membership revenue.

I reckon the direct benefits of 40K members - extra membership revenue - is probably a pretty small part of the overall value of increasing membership to 40K.

If we are talking membership revenue, there should careful conisderation of the mix of members types and how much each will pay.

What Jim asks for Jim gets.

My estimate for 2011 would have been between 35,000 to 37,000. However, if we get 40,000 because of Jim, then he truly is the Messiah.

At least we are not that St.kilda rabble!! I cannot believe what Nick Revolting said during their AGM. Blaming the public for the mess they are in. Pathetic.

Can't wait to play them, i will even venture to Colonial Stadiun for that one!! B)

What an amazing man, hopefully we won't let him down.

He is indeed... I would be calling for him to be "sainted", but unfortunately that now has rather bad connotations... maybe settle for a knighthood and a shrubbery?

With a path?? B)

Well, it's gotta look nice. And not too expensive.

My thoughts exactly , now Jimmy's called the supporters to arms I reakon we'll get it , if not very close . B)

Sweet.....I've got both MFC and MCC memberships and always swipe both when we are the home team. Good to know I haven't been wasting my time for the last 5 years.

I have often wondered about that in the past, cheers.

Out of interest, anyone know if this is the same for AFL memberships? Or an MFC membership for that matter?

Glad to know I wasn't the only one ;)

But that is not an invitation for MCC members to legitimately say they don't need to buy the $50 membership though...

Just saying...

Question: What can the MFC do, in the next month, to help achieve 40K members?

Answer: Win the NAB cup.

Jims announcement of the membership target implies that the MFC would be aspiring to progress as far as possible in the NAB cup. Wins = TV presence = promotion = more members.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.
