Show me your premiership cup before you use my line on me.

A few of us may have a say in these proceedings.Dappa is not over the line as yet..Sandi may even break down again or even rest in the last couple of games if Freo get beaten this week- it will leave the gate wide open..

And congrats OMR-- keep up the good work..let's try to get the double- hey!.

You need to look @ the brother.

Fairly certain he tanked the last home & away round to keep me out of the 8!

:-)

Protest......unfortunately......Dismissed.

And don't worry my Sis, I will try very hard to win the big one for our family.

So week 2 of finals is thus:

Range Rover takes on the impressive Jackattacks. Going by their scores this week it would have been a 5-4 win to JA. Both sides unaffected by the bye too...

Robbo24 couldn't have picked a worse time to lose Joel Corey to a bye, as he's coming up against a full strength demonland7. Had they played this last week it'd have been 6-3 to DL7...

7th and 8th, for the draft order for next year between Jako and HT. There's actually a fair bit of debate in the Dappa/Attacks household as to whether it's better to end up last for picks or first. Get pick one, and it's Sandi, and he does a Turf toe for most of the year you won't get another pick til 32. Whereas if you win the comp you're the first player to get 2 picks inside the first 17. I reckon somewhere inbetween is pretty good.

I'm picking at this stage Both Robbo and RR to crash in burn 2 weeks running... and JA to come up against big bro dappa (Mum'll be proud) and DL7 to take on the impossible-to-dislodge JCB... and JCB to lose to Dappa in the final, of course. :D

You have got most things right.. but I feel that D/L7 will meet you in the G/F...his team is very strong..and of course you are just unbeatable..

I'll tip a DL_7 & RangeRover Grand Final.

And what odds do you give me-- 21/1 - the same as Robbo gave me??.However, I do agree D/L7 will be damn hard to beat- he has a great list to pick from. And don't you give Dappa a chance either?

DD - you may call yourself Bart but I'd call you Anthony- got alot to learn as yet..

Hm. Missed that one... Anthony? I as referring of course to Bart Cummings. I get em up and going for the BIG ones.

Show me your premiership cup before you use my line on me.

Can you whip up a nice Signature for me in three weeks? I'll borrow the picture of the cup from your avatar...

Dappa is not over the line as yet..Sandi may even break down again or even rest in the last couple of games if Freo get beaten this week-

[censored]. Hadn't thought of that. Ouch.

Well it does take time for you to get it together --and don't forget my assistance during the year-- where I strongly suggested you pickup Clarke as a ruckman. It would be ironic that the boy in you(Anthony) beats the old man (Bart) due to this type of assistance.Anyhow, doesn't matter as D/L7 has my measure however I do believe you are too good for the rest. But you are very slow in the brain at times and need to get it together... gee it is boring not playing.. lost momentum we are in the loosing seat..

Um...

What?

I don't recall you telling me that at all. I remember you mentioned I should delist Everitt... But just cos I did it doesn't mean I did it cos of your advice.

And hey... when you get as lucky as I did all year with injuries, you can afford to have a slow brain. :D

No issue Anthony--we all forget things as we get older...and when you brain is not working(because of the bye) it gets harder..you and I should have a tipping competition this week---to see who wins..

I 'll go for

Hawthorn

Adelaide

West Coast

North Melb(but I hope Freo wins for your sake-- because if Freo looses-they will rest Sandilegs.

Collingwood

St Kilda

West Bulldogs

Melbourne.

Ah bugger. Too late. Well I tipped 6 this week. Missed the Hawks and Saints... but got the rest. :D

Oh. And I didn't forget anything. I couldn't be bothered reading back through the posts, but I don't recall you suggesting I take [censored] Clark because I never read it. I didn't need you to tell me I needed to pick him up cos I already knew he was awesome. He's a very handy UF player. Goals, hitouts... R/F.... awesome. When Sandis not there particularly. :D

Dappa- again get it right-I never ever said Clark from Brisbane-- I said Clarke from Freo..that is whom I suggested. It was when Clark was out injured along with Sandilands..I was just being helpful to you..I'm not bignoting,ALL I AM SAYING IS THANK GOD YOU HAVE HIM because Sandilands WILL NOT PLAY LAST ROUND IMO.However, we both have to get there.I think you can beat your brother but me.. D/L7 is going to be almighty hard to beat..he has a better list than me.

Ah. I follow. Again, I don't recall it, but you seem to pay more attention on here than me... First for good reason.

I'm not liking where I stand. Going on my last effort vs JA's last effort, he'd beat me 6-3...

Going by that, I'm picking JA and JCB in the final.

Can I check on the legality/morality/etc. on a trade I'm considering from a confident Ufootier.

(I'm not actually expecting a taker).

As I'm trying to salvage the bitter disaster that has been the second half of my season, I'm battling to make the *gulp* consolation GF, is anyone (who thinks they'll make the GF) interested in Scotland? More out of interest/discussion but hey.

Scotland would be handy in any team but of course you know the trade window is closed.

Good Luck to you if you get to the Consolation GF, better to salvage something from UF Demonland season No. 1

Just remember I plan to dispose of Eth 38 this weekend then attack hard in the last man standing CGF.

As for the Big 4 left in the main comp, good luck this weekend Gents.

I am tipping a Jack Attack V JCB31 Grand Final

Thanks for your support OMR- but truthfully D/L 7 has the team to beat me..he recruited very well.-beat me to the punch in picking up form boy- David Mackay whom played very well last week. He is on the boil with huge momentum. All the best with your match this week.Very interesting tussle b/w the two brothers..

You can't trade - trading was finished weeks ago...but I'd take Scotland--I'd take Scotland for Stanton.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
